I have 45 days to return it - I still havent opened the box it was just delivered and i'm at work now. I'll see how it works out for a couple of days... if I dont think its best, I"ll return it and get the V1. Thanks for the info on updating it right away and adjusting the settings. I'm going to play with it later today. |

That's why my buddy got a ticket and I didn't. I had my Max on spec or meter mode. Saw a signal before the V1, slowed, then passed the cop, then he started booking it again and I saw that a different frequency was coming in... And knew there was another cop... My phone call didn't get to him in time. And you CAN hear it. At 100MPH windows down smoking a cigarette while blasting JT, you won't hear it at all and with the 9500 maybe a bit. It's quieter, but as long as you aren't deaf or as deaf as me, you should be good to go Advantage is that the Max is better than the 9500 at taking out unwanted signals. A feature the V1 cannot do at all |

Advantage is that the Max is better than the 9500 at taking out unwanted signals. A feature the V1 cannot do at all[/QUOTE] Um, the V1 has 3 different signal filter settings that work just fine. Also, Valentine updates it's circuitry when the need arises. You can go on their site and make sure you have the latest tech by entering your serial #...then send in your V1 and have it updated if you don't. Do others offer that option? I'm unaware if they do or not. I've owned my V1 for 10 yrs and used it mostly when riding my CBR1000RR in the twisty roads of the Angeles Forrest. My V1 has never let me down. It has paid for itself many times over. |
^Escort does something similar. You update firmware with options and crap. Also you can pay to have updates for red light and speed cameras
The signal filtering is not what I'm talking about, you still get false alarms. The 9500 and the Max lock them out. And the V1 is like 20 years old. I know tried and true is good and why reinvent the wheel but shít, times have changed |

kinda like that one guy blaming his MT car even though it was him that sucked at driving MT in general. |
The Escort models are GPS enabled so they can lock out false signals. That's what DE is referring to. The V1, not being GPS Enabled, cannot do this based on location. I believe it does it based on signal band and strength of signal right?

I believe you are correct. |

In full logic mode 'L', I've never had a problem with false alarms. I don't run it at all in town (in L.A.) I did use it once driving to Vegas and it worked like a charm then too. Whatever works for you is best. |
