Downside of our door handles

Well guys, lately I have been getting some major static electricity shocks every time I get out of the car and touch the door handle. Some so bad that it makes me curse out loud. I've also noticed it gets worse in the colder months. I think our cars are much worse than other models as we have those metal handles.

Lately I have been locking the door with the FOB to avoid touching the door handle because that shock can be painful! Anyone else sharing my woes? Anyway to make it better? I'm so tired of getting zapped! :icon14:

Its with all cars that have good grounding, just today at work i was shocked to the point where i saw a huge spark followed by huge pain.

Try touching the car with the back of your hand or other body part that isn't packed with pain receptors before grabbing the handle with your fingers.

If it's you building up the charge and not the car, then different shoes may help.

Low humidity (Winter) exacerbates the problem.

And somehow this didn't go in my thread...

Local cops around her use 370s as tasers.

That was my initial thought too.

There definitely should be a recall for this

Well, if your battery ever gives up the ghost, just run jumper cables to each door and rub the roof like you were back in your adolescence.

Har har har!

No but it's really gotten annoying. I think I am going to fabricate some door handle condoms and maybe, just maybe it will solve my problem. Will be on sale later this week.

Does Plastidip help?

I get shocked less from my Z then I do my Taurus and my Z handles are plastidipped.

The problem is being caused by different potentials. Just got to lower your potential. Touch the ground before touching the car.

Odd. I've never been accused of having much potential.
