To get the damage fixed right, it's going to take the entire $1500, maybe more. He messed up part of the unibody, not a bolt on panel. Cutting and welding= much $.

So then I should fix my car and spend a bit more for audio then it seems.
That would be the smarter choice. And yea if i did get the kit i wouldnt be able to stance it. So with this new ideas. im leaning towards repairing the car and audio. And since its rusting already would it be better to cut and re weld? instead of banging it out and bondo?

If you can really get an Amuse kit at that price, its hard to pass up.

Thing is, you want to do it 100% right, I would only do the kit if everything else exterior wise looks top notch. I don't recall in the previous posts if you mentioned being on stock or aftermarket wheels?

A kit like that deserves a great stance and top notch wheels to really get the full effect of the look.

If you already have money set aside to fix the rusting quater panel, and you got the wheels to set off the kit, I'd go Amuse.

Otherwise, I'd get the car back up to spec first, good luck!! :tiphat:

Well im fairly new to this car repair scene. So I wouldnt know which would be better but no cutting and welding seems like the better option. The audio would only give me like an extra 30 pounds of weight. Not enough to make difference. I just have to lose thirty pounds. ANd yea i can get the kit for $700 thats why it was i was so bent up on it.

Nope. Bondo is the hack job way out. Cutting and welding is the right way.

However, the good thing is all of that weight is sitting right on top of the rear axle. On a RWD car, this is not such a bad way to have it.

Order the whole piece that needs to be replaced, take off the entire piece to be replaced, replace old piece with new piece.

Please don't cut the new panel....

It's the rear fender. It's part of the body of the car. It has to be cut out and a replacement welded in. That may require some cutting of the new part to match.

Rear Quarter Panels cant be fixed that way.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Thought you were talking about the rear bumper. Which wouldn't make any sense since its plastic and you were talking about rust. My bad.

I just noticed you have a 2013 on your profile? Is that the rusty one? That's way too early

The rear quarter panel got dinged chipping paint away in about 5 inches across and 1-2 inches wide. And its rusting. In NJ rain and snow is prevalent during these times.

This approach seems way less drastic than what you were suggesting. Cutting the panel out doesn't seem like a good idea to me still but I probably don't know the full extent of what is going on here.

That only addresses the rust. The link you posted suggests filling the dents with bondo, which is the cheap way out. When it cracks and falls out, you'll be wishing you had ponied up the cash to do it right the first time.

Hey Chuck could you explain a bit on the right way to do it, i wanna take it to the place and ask them how there going to do it and see if it fits with what you say. Could you be precise and specific so that i may not go in blind?

It depends on where the damage is and how severe. I've never seen a pic of the damage, so I can't begin to tell you. If it's shallow enough, they may be able to pull the dents out. If it's a crease, it depends on if they can get behind it. If they can pull the dents out close to smooth they may be able to get away with a touch of body filler. If the panel is mangled, they're going to have to cut out the damage or you'll end up with thick spots of bondo all over it and that has a bad habit of cracking and falling out. Then they've got to match the paint to the surrounding area.

Have you posted a question in your local forum here to find a good body shop? Someplace that has received multiple recommendations.
