Ok - so next time you go for a drive forrest - try the following... 6th gear at 40... but instead of fully depressing the clutch - only go about 1/3 of the way - you will know as the gear will allow you to dis-engage from 6 into N and then come off the clutch... you will hear no rev up... just pressing the clutch fully makes the car EXPECT a downshift which causes it to preemtively rev up

I gotta disagree with your generalization. I have owned a dozen + new model cars and motorcycles without any issues. Then again I also stayed away from the Pacer. Besides, I am an engineer with 25 years of designing and implementing new technology without any "flaws".
Regarding the rev match or the rest of the car, I have not had an issue. Quote:
