Active Military Members Who Are Deployed - Xmas List

**Resurrecting for the 2014 Holiday Season!**
I'm sure some goodies for Thanksgiving would be appreciated as well!

I know there are many of you forum members who are serving overseas and might not get the chance to come home for the holidays. There quite a few members on here who love sending out care packages. If you could use some items, please feel free to post your address and requests.

(Posted in general for greater visibility but feel free to move it, mods.)

Running list:

For anyone sending, here is a page on APO/FPO restrictions and guidelines:
https://www.usps.com/send/apo-fpo-dpo.htm

This is definitely a great idea! I'm not currently on deployment but I know for a fact that care packages can make someone's month!

Awesome idea!! It is pretty rough being deployed during the holiday times, its my third year in a row :( If there is anyone from the north east willing to send some Wawa goodies id kill for that!! 3 years with out wawa is a horrible thing! Besides that, i wish a happy holidays to my fellow service members and everyone else out there supporting us.

if the wawa person pulls through, you can send it to me here,

Happy holidays :D

Pintsize725 12-16-2013 07:14 PM

I'll try to keep all addresses and requests updated on the first post to help anyone who wants to send. I know it's probably pushing it for Christmas time, but I'm sure those serving would appreciate a care package at any time!

enkei2k 12-16-2013 07:41 PM

How do you fill these out?

like, what goes in the address, city, state, zip etc?

Fill out the form here:
https://cns.usps.com/go/ShippingInformationAction_input

"If you're shipping to an APO/FPO/DPO or a territory of the United States, please select "United States" in the the destination dropdown."

Last I did it, it had to be in person to fill out the customs form

Also, get the priority flat rate boxes, it's MUCH quicker and cheaper over all. Remember, no Pork products as well

Texas must be lazy because I used to send lots of shipments to APO/FPO with online custom forms. :icon14:

haha nope! Wawa is like a 7-11/Walgreen/one stop shop all in one.. it is a north east thing. I think only PA,NJ,NYC area.. maybe some in CT. But its one of those things you grow fond of and really miss.. Hard to explain unless you know of them.

RICAN 12-16-2013 09:48 PM

Yea you peoplecan pretty much send anything but if is liquid or any fragile make sure is tape up and protected...because they the boxes get bang around a lot and some times stuff breaks!!..ohh no booze lol

And then there's people like me that are working overseas. 4th year in a row! Red Sea/10; Chile/11; Indonesia/12; and this year in Vietnam!

9 out of the last 11 years. Although in some ways, it better. Some of the places celebrate Christmas for what it's supposed to be, NOT a commercial shopping month!

So, what about passive military members who are also deployed?

Pintsize725 12-17-2013 08:42 AM

Let's keep it on topic guys. You know where to take the shenanigans. ;)

For those who hate shopping/shipping but want to contribute, I found this site. Not sure how reputable it is. If anyone knows of any other sites, please feel free to add them.

We also have a few members who send out care packages on a regular basis. If they are OK with accepting donations to help send more, I'm asking them to please let the rest of us know.

Great idea. I'd much rather chip in on something from a The370Z member than some organization that I don't know. Well, "regular" members anyway.
