I would tell them to order you another new fuc*** car!!! For one you are paying for a new car, not a car that was by all tents and purposes in a "accident" and if you choose to keep that car (don't know why you would) I would have them fix the car with original OEM bumpers and renegotiate a price because your now buying a vehicle that was wrecked. And if you want a Nismo then get a Nismo not a regular Z (no one likes a poser) just my $0.02

Part of the draw...scratch that all of the draw of having a nismo is in the little serial number attached to it. I dont think too many people would disagree with the fact that the body kit looks way better but even if you got the new one it would still depreciate a ton because im almost certain the dealership is going to have to report a carfax due to the damage during shipping plus the added 10% drop driving off the lot. Get the nismo you already have the upgraded suspension side skirts and everything else you would have to replace for your car to truly look like a nismo anyways.

It is what it is, dealers are prepared for this kinda thing, they will take out an insurance claim on the vehicle being damaged and then try to sell you the car. They make out like a bandit and are laughing all the way to the bank, and leave you shafted...

I would say show me the Carfax before you sign lol
Yeah I would make sure there no real damage, I think the nismo idea is good plus if u want to change it up you can sale it here ( they don't go cheap either) Good luck |
out of curiosity, if i were to go with the new base/sport with Nismo bumpers, where would i source the side skirts?
|
Refuse to take delivery of it. You ordered a new car, you get a new car. It's as simple as that. Or you can cancel and get the Nismo!
|
It's my understanding that under federal law, a new vehicle can not be sold in the U.S. if it's anything other than cosmetic damage. Nissan would have to destroy the car. When the car transport rolled off of Alaska, Mitsubishi had to destroy 1400 vehicles.

Contact z1 motor sports they have the full kit for 3600 they may sell you just the side skirts....oh and the nismo kit looks hideous without the wing. that over 2k by itself and paint and install for the wing itself will be ~1000 by itself or more if you go to a repuatable body shop (I speak from experience) side skirt paint shoulnt be more than 300 i wouldnt think.....Seriously tho dont buy that car. Your gonna lose so much value. Buy used the engines last a long time and eventually somethings gonna go wrong with the car like the csc will fail or somethin stupid anyways and your gonna have to fix it thats just more money. Buy the used nismo youll be glad you did with the extra performance.

get the used nismo or a new 370z... they already damaged it, why would u want to buy a damaged car when u paid for a brand new one. plus nismo one is legit.
|
Please don't take delivery of the 'damaged' new car. I agree get a brand new car, as its not hard to get one, and if the dealership is being jerks about it...just find another dealer. You dont owe them anything and you certainly dont have to help them out of their screw up.
