Couple Issues I Need Help With.

First things First.

The huge metal circle where the brakes hug is starting to show signs of rust? Im talking about if you look just into the wheel you see your caliper and the big metal circle the caliper is hugging. Is this normal? How do I get rid of it, should i get rid of it.

Also im scraping although im not scraping? I know weird, when im rolling into first gear it feels metal is scraping on metal or metal onto blacktop. Does anyone know whats wrong with that? I remember another member had this issue.

Lastly My damn "auto" for my headlights are still messed up. Wont go DRL's then into Headlights on auto mode just stays in headlight mode.

Any help would be nice.

The metal on metal is probably your brake pad wear notification that it's time to replace them. The rotors (metal discs the calipers clamp on) will rust slightly in the middle and I don't think it's a huge deal unless it's a lot of rust. Typically, the rust doesn't build up where the pads make contact though.

Hmm i know what it sounds like when you dont have pads anymore but its not that sound. It more like a metal piece is scraping on the floor but there is no metal piece thats visibily hitting the floor or anywhere close to it matter a fact.

Is it raining/snowing out or did you just wach the car? Been sitting awhile? The rotors will shows signs of surface rust at the slightest hint of moisture. It'll wear off the first time you hit the brakes or find and empty parking lot, give it hell and test out the ABS sytem.

The scraping might be a rock or some debris in the dust shield on the back side of the rotors. I live down a gravel road so I get this alot. I usually fix it by the above method.

DRLs I can't think of anything since I have an '11. Hit them with a hammer?

I use Calyx Manifold Dressing to get rid of any rust that builds up on the rotor hats. Here is the website: Home

It was made for cast iron manifold restoration (use it on my Evo), but I found it works great for the rotor hats also. It isn't paint, so it doesn't burn off with temp. It is also a rust prohibitor.

Minsu - Comparing your first and last post, it's like a totally different person. Just saying.

To answer your question, use POR15. My barber restores classics and he recommended it to me once.
