Sorry for the misunderstanding. I've had the stock wheels up front for 2 weeks, i took off my rims and put on the OEM rims back on myself. I dropped off the rim to be re lipped a couple weeks ago, i've been driving fine since then.

My heart feels for you.

I would think it wouldbe like any other accident although the shop that installed the wheels may get pulled into it. That would be the insurance company's job tho-not yours. You pay for insurance for a reason.
(If I am wrong i am sure somebody will correct me.)

Gawd. I'm sorry.
Thanks, i just got the car a few months ago too.

Im using the same logic, i pay insurance for a reason, but it might technically be my fault since i was the one who put the stock wheel on. I'm still not sure how the wheel just falls off like that though. I'm just hoping im covered.

If you had an accident, run off the road, rear end somebody, etc.. It is your fault and the insurance pays. So it should still pay. Your rates will prob go up but it should still pay.

Yeah insurance should cover it, if you have full coverage. That is what you pay for, that is what you get.

But like others have said...might have insurance rate increase.

For a fender replacement and rotor plus misc. items, I would think around 1 to 1.5K and I am guessing a little high....no I'm not high, the price guess is.

If your deductible is $500, then you might want to think twice about getting insurance involved. If you don't have an extra K laying around, then let them cover it.

Sorry for your hard luck, but things happen and thankfully no one was hurt and you weren't driving at a high speeds. Things could have been a lot worse.

Making a claim doesn't necessarily mean your rates will go up. I had a $20K claim (my fault, no other vehicles involved) a few years ago and my rates didn't go up. YMMV - I've been with State Farm for 40 years and only made a few claims.

True. Lots of companies don't increase rates based on the first claim.
