As for the BRZ/FRS. Really has a tiny feel to it, only sat in one. That whole feeling of driving on the edge I imagine is cool, but you are driving at the edge with 200hp...yawn. It does seem over priced too for what you are getting. I mostly see 20 somethings here driving it or some late 30's early 40 types. I think what makes me laugh the most is I'll see a FRS going ape **** in traffic, zig zaggin etc...I'll get close and then whoops...all calm, maybe even getting behind me lol...so I feel like the boss...untill a 911 or M3 comes along :icon17: |

the good is... you just saw emails and pictures... could be more confusing if there's a Ferrari actually sitting on your driveway..!! :bowrofl: |

The hate on this thread makes me :rofl2:
In a few years these things will be like cockroaches (think miata) at track events... I priced out a coilover setup for one... half the price of my mustangs suspension. Slap on a turbo... swap the brake fluid and pads... golden i think its a great little platform... small light and rwd. Hell people are already swaping LSx motors into them. (where dont those things fit) |

Anyways, with the way the "trends" are going this car will not be the next Miata or S2000. It will end up the next 240sx/Silvia in the US, which will mean hellaflush and horrible body panels, unpainted, and little value. Yes there will be some who take the car in a proper direction but the kids & trends will ruin it for the rest. |

Plus unfortunately, "most" people I know who have bought a FRS/BRZ is your standard flatbill cap douche. :shakes head: |
but i must be bias in some why right?
I mean... im only a Mustang owner on a 370z forum drooling over a Chevy powered Subi/Toyota thats like a Miata... :icon14: |

It would be nice to see the twins (or one of the 2) last and become a true icon car. Especially if a used one with decent miles and good condition can be found for 15k or less, super cheap entry and plenty of aftermarket support already (both good & bad). |

But why should I believe you, you just drive a lame Mustang. :stirthepot: |

From my side, I'm not hating... My test drive was just uninspiring. Im able to rent corvrttes for a weekend. Get back in my Z and feel inspired to drive it in spite of the 100hp deficit. From a subie to a Z, the toyobaru is a snoozer to drive unless you will do 100% street driving @ high revs and never pass 70mph.
The platform is generally very good. But as Kenchan said. The car is overpriced. The price holds it's criticism. When 2011 hit on the Z. The Z wasn't worth ifs msrp either. But smart shoppers were knocking $3000 off the price. Toyobaru is not negotiating. Lol. Not worth it. |

I will say a widebody BRZ/FRS is a beautiful thing (think rocket Bunny)
Back to the article though, I really hope Nissan comes out with something impressive. Not that I'm looking to sell, trade etc, but I just love seeing Nissan occupy this space. So many car makers have left it behind. They did well in the past with the Silvia, The Z...I'm more of a Z fanboy than a Nissan fanboy but again, be nice if Nissan can represent more than just economy |

But people can do what they want with their cars , u shouldn't hate the car per say . I've never had a real drive in the twins but can respect them and the companies for bringing back a some what affordable rear wheel drive coupe. I give kudos to genesis coupe for maybe getting the Asian companies to get back into that market. Hopefully Nissan will get it right. |

everytime i talk to a FRS/BRZs, mustang(V6 with the occasional GT), and honda owner, it usually turns into, your 370z doesnt respond well to mods and its slower than their car or some **** like that :shakes head: |

All this...:icon18:moot. I could make a 10 second Suburban with the right money. They want $29K OTD for this POS. I saw one driving to work this morning...its so funny looking, putzing along on those bicycle tires. pathetic automobile. |

I think Subota sounds much better than Toyotabu or whatever it is. Flows off the tongue better.

I've been seeing more FRS/BRZs on the road. One thing I really like about it is the compact package. It is plenty roomy and suited for its purpose. I'd love to have a Z of those dimensions, light weight, and running a VQ25DET.
I watched a video of a Crawford built BRZ. It is sick, but it sounds terrible. Thumbs up for VQ turbo sound. |

the issue is that the tomica cars do not come with a compact price to match. :ugh: |
That's true... double yew tee eff. Remember the 350Z complaint was the interior for under 30k? The FRS/BRZ for about under $30k OTD is definitely a bit pricey for what it offers - more than a used 370Z among others.
I wanted a Civic Si sedan for a daily, but it stickered at $23k. |
meh, the current civics aren't real civics any more. :shakes head:

I could say most mustang owners are fine... but I own a mustang so of course I will face less flack. its just perspective. EDIT: go to a mustang forum (or any other competitions for that matter) and ask em how they feel about 370 guys... |

Second... 29k? might want to do some homework. (i swear the price keeps going up and up as this thread continues) Scion FR-S | Prices And Information | Scion.com Third... you could make a 10 sec suburban with the "right" money... congrats? Will it be reliable for whatever this amount is? Will you have the right support mods or do you just wanna dump some giggle gas into it and blow your engine/tranny/diff? I priced out a coilover suspension for a brz... 800 bux and its still a rather new platform. Anyone wanna know the price difference between a set of track tires for the BRZ vs your 370z? How bout pads? Its a good platform... a sharp one at that. EDIT: tires are also proportional to weight and power... so think about that. |

I think it's a great car, just slow and a bit over priced. But form everything I've read, it's supposed to handle great and is lots of fun. Boost and bigger wheels would make it a great little car. It's no Z, though, and with the recent Z price drop, it's not much cheaper.
