I hope with a motorcycle & a sports car at 16 you don't end up learning another & much more painful lesson. |
I don't think you wasted your money. You're a 16 year old guy with a very cool car. How about just get used to driving a high powered sports car before you start modding it. You're just getting started driving and I know you don't believe it, but your driving skills are like a baby starting to crawl. In two years you'll be so much better you won't believe it. Just take it easy. Really.

the wasted money part was covered. So were the mods. And I agree with both. Mods aren't endless. But being 16 and having such limited experience you won't know the cars potential for quite some time. And there is a very fine line between potential and offroading into a tree. Don't do the latter.

OP, please be careful. There were several kids in my HS who never made it to graduation because they wrapped their cars around trees. I grew up in a resort town with a large senior week and saw a lot of kids with sports cars wrecked. Take it easy and find a local autox club if you want to have some fun. A lot safer and you were learn a lot about the car and yourself. I do not see cops going easy on you with this car so keep that in mind too.
As far as wasting money, at this point it doesn't matter either way. With a base you do have a lot of room to grow but if you were going to do anything soon, get the sport brakes from Z1 or another site. Brakes and tires will help keep you alive. |
Did you waste your money? No, not yet.
Crash the Z.....then you've wasted money. Drive safe my young Z brother :tiphat: |
I'd ask for a twin turbo kit for the 17th birthday.:driving:

"Sick ride u have there bro. How much? 30k? Really? Wow nice "
All dayy arre day....get it. |

You got ripped!
Granted prices will be different based on your area but I got my 2012 Base with Sport with 6,800 miles for $27K. I do have a few more miles but the larger brakes makes me happy. :) |

You may have overpaid. I got mine brand new for $29,000.00. No matter. Learn from it. Now, enjoy your car. Drive it carefully and responsibly and maintain it conscientiously. It's a Nissan and if you care for it right, it will last you maybe 10 years and 100,000---or until you marry and have kids (whichever comes first) LOL. Enjoy but be safe. That's a lotta' car for a young guy.

Let me look into my crystal ball....April 2014, 16 year old BOY destroys telephone pole and his moms 370Z.....guaranteed.
|
30k for the base model...I purchased mine for 27k smh, so we're kind of in the same boat...mine had only 5k on it I think but whats done is done. I was always told that, "if you have to worry about the price, then you cant afford it"...
Just hope you didnt pay that much for an automatic, now that would have been a mistake!!! |

This. One thing I have also learned is no matter how good of a deal you think you got someone will have done better (goes with how fast a car is as well). Anyway, when I buy a car I make sure I am happy. Once I am happy I don't look at prices anymore or pay attention to what others have paid. Who gives a crap as long as you are happy. Oh and the Sport brakes are nothing to write home about. You would do much better with after market. |
Op, since you're local I thought I'd let you know. If you need a set of sport wheels, I might be able to help out with that. ;)
|
Like everyone else has said, just enjoy the car and don't be stupid. We don't want to read about you splitting the car in half on a telephone pole. To be honest, I'm a little jelly, at 16 my first car was a 1949 Chrysler that I paid $50 for and had to tow home….
