So, this Service Manager (who is now my hero) thought outside the "bay" and has come up with a way to fix it...he told me how and said a lot of "car" words that I didn't quite understand, but the section he tested looked good. So he thinks he may have my car (nice and shiny no purple dots) back to me by tomorrow!!!! OMG this would be fantastic!

If this truly does work the way I am hoping it will, I will get the details of what he did so I can let everyone know who might have similar issues~!

I am just so glad that I may not have to have my BRAND NEW car repainted!!!!

I noticed them on my PG Z today. There are a bunch on my hood, it almost looks like the clearcoat is bubbling in places. Has anyone actually gotten this issue "resolved" in any way? I guess I'll call my local dealer and see what they say. Really sucks, cause I just got it tinted and I was about to get a clear bra installed (already got a damn rock chip!).

I had a 98 honda civic once apon a time that developed some light purple spots in the paint on the fender rolls on the front quarter panel. I'm not sure if its similar to whats being reported here since there are no pics to compare it to but it sounds similar. There were about 5 spots but the car was black in color.

After reading this I'm happy I got the MB. I had this issue before with red color cars, and red is my favorite color. The last issue I had the dealer claimed it was acid rain.

Didn't read thru the whole thread but I hope you resolved your issue!

Default 09 platitum graphite spots

My 09 370 is also full of spots under the clear coat, already took it to my dealer and their body shop, someone from nissan HQ is going to look at it tomorrow. The only diference in my case is that i bought mine used with 3500k. We will see how they handle my case but I do not want a new car that its totally repainted

Please let me know how that turns out. My spots are smaller than they were when I first noticed them last July which is when I bought it, and they only appear in the hot sun. Are yours there all the time or just on sunny days?

Epic bump. I'm glad I went with MB, as we seem to be having the fewest issues out of all of them. Mine was built in the first month of production and have 'knock on wood' no issues with the paint. There was a strange blemish on the hood that I took note of when I picked up the car, and the dealer tried to get it out with no luck, but it has since gone away.

Nissan agreed to paint my entire car, I could not argue to get a new one because Im not the original owner. I dont think this is a especific color issue rather a process issue when the car gets painted. The spot are most noticeable when looking at the car in a angle and the sun not directly on the car. I would recommend all 2009 z owners to do a detailed check of their paint to make sure you dont have these before the warranty runs out
