Gear indicator is flashing "N"
No matter what gear I'm in the indicator flashes that it's in neutral. But I know it's not the sensor because then it wouldn't be flashing. Any idea how to fix it?

not sure what means in Nissan, but my acura was flashing the green light next to drive indicator...it was the equivalent of a check engine light but for transmission in my acura. which means something is up with transmission.
Hope that is not the case with you...not sure what that means in Nissan... |

Better hope it keeps flashing... I heard that when it stops, your car blows up.

If you do want to troubleshoot on your own, check out the Factory Service Manual (FSM). I'd start in the TM (Transaxle and Transmission) section. I'd also use an OBD scanner to check for any DTCs. |

There are hall sensors to determine what location the shifter is in. The location is sent to the ECM and then goes to the gear indicator. To me, it sounds like the sensor pack is bad, so the ECM does not "read" the shifter location. This should be covered under warranty (if still covered).
Keep us posted... |
I've had the car for only 2 months but the car is a 2009 with 33k miles so it's out of the bumper to bumper warranty, 3yr/36 right?

By the way guys, I forgot to mention that the srm doesn't work. The S light doesn't even come on if you press the button.

Stock map or reverted the ECU to the stock state (ie never been tuned)? Something went wrong in the flash process.
|
is this something where you can pull the code and clear it via OBD2? id try that.

At this point you either need to call Uprev back and figure out what went wrong in the flashing process or drop the car off at the dealer.

If it worked before the flash and doesn't now, we've found the cause unless some sensor got toasted when you messed with the harness. Hopefully it can be solved without going to the dealer and bending over.
