How fast have you taken your 370z?

Where at? How fast? How long did you keep it at that speed. I seen some jaw dropping utube clips.

Tazicon 10-08-2013 10:20 AM

80 as that is the speed limit in parts of Utah

tiger123 10-08-2013 10:21 AM

I have had it up to 125mph on a Highway close to where I live. I kept it there for about 10 seconds. It can without a doubt handle more, but I have to admit, I was a little nervous. :eekdance:

The car handled like a dream. It was rock solid with no unwanted noises or vibrations. :bowrofl:

After slowing down to 70mph, it felt like 30.

Troyz 10-08-2013 10:21 AM

I get the same feeling when I slow down...

Yes it can!! Feels like nothing and has no problem doing so. This is such an awesome car. But must be respected.

Mt Tam I am 10-08-2013 10:55 AM

I legally had it up to 125 MPH in fourth gear and the rev limiter flashing. The straight away at Thunderhill Raceway ended so I lifted. The car would certainly have pulled past 125 if I'd put it in fifth and had more straight.

edub370 10-08-2013 11:01 AM

155 pegged at the limiter. on a closed road in Mexico... :eekdance:

now the limiter is no mas

2011 Nismo#91 10-08-2013 11:22 AM

140ish felt perfectly fine, did 135 in a tiburon and that did not feel fine.

Arrvaxx 10-08-2013 11:24 AM

9000

UNKNOWN_370 10-08-2013 11:30 AM

148mph legally... no storytelling with that.

ka24king 10-08-2013 11:30 AM

150 or my ranch road starting feeling a little squirrelly on the loose gravel though

Elan 10-08-2013 11:41 AM

Ah so much illegal activity, this thread will get locked soon enough. But when I was at the "track" I took my 350 up to 160 in 5th gear. Gotta love the gov limiter.

I've gotten a lot smarter with the 370 now. It's my baby and I have never taken it above 90. Even that was just to pass someone Sunday driving in the fast lane.

DarkJak 10-08-2013 11:43 AM

I'm all about that 0-SpeedLimit.
Really, there's no point to these speed threads unless they are directed at people who have had their speed limiters removed.

dP3NGU1N 10-08-2013 12:06 PM

145 at el mirage in california. It's a dry lakebed, perfectly legal. I was pretty scared of running over a patch of grass or some idiot on a skateboard (ON A SKATEBOARD!) and flipping and/or killing someone so I let off though I'm rather certain I could have taken it much faster.

DIGItonium 10-08-2013 12:14 PM

Briefly touched 130 MPH in 4th once. Touched 100 MPH a few times. After the recent 100 MPH pull, I don't think I'll do that again. It's something I must think twice about not only because it is dangerous, but for some reason I don't have much confidence with the car at this speed. A small bump and the car just wants to swerve left or right. It's something with the steering, or the tires, but I have trouble keeping the car straight.

Swifts + stock shocks appear to be okay for street driving, but definitely not at higher speeds. Even within city limits, I'd like for things to be a tad stiffer.

DEpointfive0 10-08-2013 12:17 PM

120mph uphill for about a minute. (On a closed road)
155 on the dyno for about 10 seconds at a time

Wait for the members in Germany to post 155 for 30 minutes

DEpointfive0 10-08-2013 12:18 PM

Ibtl if people don't post that it was on a closed road

Agreed. I started with legal speed.

DIGItonium 10-08-2013 12:25 PM

Speed is scary even on the track. First thing on my mind is fish tailing side ways and out of control from a dig. If I keep that in my mind, then I keep my foot light haha. Instead of the BOV whooshing loudly, it'll be silent (but deadly). :)

Then I also think about fusing the clutch to the flywheel, breaking transmission, etc. O_o

Chuck33079 10-08-2013 12:30 PM

Hit the top of fourth a couple of times, and immediately backed off. Feels good at that speed, it's just way too fast if you're not on a closed course.

onzedge 10-08-2013 12:34 PM

This morning, driving from Novato to Petaluma (up Highway 101), I got her up to 70 mph a couple of times.

SurfDog 10-08-2013 12:38 PM

120. High plains raceway! rock steady. Then full ABS right hander trail braking into the twisties. (fun) Its not how fast it goes that makes me smile, its how well it brakes down into the turn that I enjoy!

Typically when I drive the speed is not my goal, but it's definitely too easy to exceed the limit when letting the car rev past 4k in 3rd or 4th to look at boost levels haha. It's also a bit scary flooring it 1st or 2nd. The extra power feels great, but I have to let off quick. It's nice to be able to enjoy some boost at half throttle without going too crazy.

Agreed even for a brief spirited drive or testing boost levels, it's scary as heck esp with small bumps. It's difficult to test in 2nd because there's not enough time to look at the gauges and whatnot while keeping the car straight, but the dyno is definitely the way to go for this stuff.

It'll get up to the rev limeter in 4th very quickly, then you look at the speedo and think "****, I'm going to jail" and throw it into 5th and engine brake back down.

I think I hit 200+ once....

in GT5

UpRev removes that, correct?

I won't say how fast, but it's not near as fast as some others. I'm not enticed to hit the 155 limit, as I've already surpassed that in my SRT4 and it was very, very frightening. Though, this car does feel super solid at speed.

I have a goal to drive 200mph+ one day. Not sure when or where (on a track of course), or how much it's going to cost me, but I want to do it at least once.

Yes.

Bonneville, or the Texas Mile if you've got a car that will hit 200 in a standing mile.

I don't have one yet. I don't know anyone that does either (says GTR's top speed is 193, so no go on that one), yet.

So far 165 is my fastest in a vehicle, I would love to pass 200 one day as well (on a track of course). Never thought I would pass the 147 I did on my bike much less do it in a car.

Can't believe the moderators let this thread passed by without being restricted.

I did post the same thread my first time I registered over here and I was cited for posting such. Haha I'm soar graping!
But I'm cool if everyone is cool!

This car has the most linear engine ever. You get no thrill hitting 120+mph. Not a straight line car unless youre boosted.
