I was just out yesterday afternoon and had some fun. I live in Lancaster PA, and the northeastern part of the county has some fun back roads, provided you're not stuck behind Amish people, old people, trucks, or tourists (terrorists, as I've come to call them). And that is a BIG "if."

70 degrees out, windows down, and no traffic. Lots of fun 90 degree turns, couple tight S turns on the route I took. Hit the gas coming out of a turn and get a little squirm from the back end. It's lovely.

Most of my commutes are highway tourist hell though. Ugh. "Gas, brake, honk." -Homer Simpson

I live pretty close to downtown so often my commute to work in the morning and afternoon when I take the Z is pretty tame, its only 15 minutes and its more like a car show than having a spirited drive.

Sometimes I get the highway though, I like it for the smooth open road, I can really push her at times or just enjoy the smooth patch of road unlike the horrible Montreal city streets

Twisties are my favourite though, but I have to get 35 mins out of the city. Thats when you get to see the magic the Z has, not to mention when you take some turns too quickly or sharply, you have the potential to poop yourself, exciting :) lol

For me I love any ramp/entrance onto interstate. I don't track my car so that is where I can let it all out, feel the power and say in my mind "that felt awesome!". What about rest of you?:tiphat:

It is quite boring these couple days at work:(...very silent market for me

i dont dd my Z, but i do like the turns. setting up the car for the turn downshifting, feeling the weight transferring from front to the rear tires, and punching out. :D feels great.

I daily drive my supercharged 2010 and I love feeling the boost kick in

I smile when I'm driving to the I-4 entrance ramp with a Miata tailgating my Z, take the turn to the ramp at 60 looking in the rear view mirror seeing the Miata drift to the top of the turn and have to slam the brakes. No more pesky Miata tailgater.

The I-264 Eastbound on-ramp from Independence Blvd. It banks just right. It goes sharply into a right curve and ascends and dips just a touch rolling into a left curve and then back right just as it merges with the expressway.

The downside is the person doing 25mph in front of you. I don't go that way unless I'm the first person at the light.

As previously mentioned, US 129 - 318 turns in 11 miles - South edge of the Smoky Mountain National Park. This one is my favorite in the eastern half of the US. Makes for a great 3 day weekend from Indy. Worth a visit, no matter where you're from.:

I've ridden and driven it probably two dozen times. Midweek is the best. Weekends tend to be a bit crowded. It doesn't have to be as bad as the video makes it seem. But it can be if you get stupid. There are a couple of web sites to buy your pictures after you go, if you run it when they're out taking pics. The semis aren't supposed to be there, but once they get past a certain point there's no way to turn back.

My driveway makes me smile the most b/c the people here in Atlanta can get in a wreck standing still.:shakes head:

Not sure if there are many people behave like me. I love to drive my Z but I don't like to drive just for a cruise (I know there are a lot of nice places to drive around). So I had to continuous make up some destinations so I can drive a bit since I don't drive to work. Haha I'm weird. :bowrofl:

From Chicago you should be able to do 129 as a 3 day weekend. Go on Friday. Drive it several times on Saturday. Go back on Sunday. Just be careful. Stay away from the kill-zone. Stay alert. Start slow. Build up. My top average in the Z, according to the speed averaging meter, is 43mph. A guy on a crotch rocket set the record at 10 minutes. That's over 60, which I simply do not understand.

That's why I look for adventures away from the city. Indy? Chicago? Atlanta? No way. The Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, the Brown County Loop in Indiana, the Beartooth, the Chief Joseph? Absolutely. Those are the things that make being a daily-drone worth it.

Any road where there's nobody else around. I was out on some country roads yesterday in an area where you can see for 2 miles in any direction. Needless to say I put the hammer down and enjoyed the car, letting it do what it was built to do. Never went over 100 but I was right there on narrow bumpy unmaintained Cali roads. Pretty fun except I was in a pissy mood because of some stuff at work.

Too bad it was all grid. No twisties but I wasn't on a joyride. I had to take some radio equipment to one of my field crews and I wanted to get there in a hurry. I could've taken a pool car (Prius) but you can't drive the company cars over 65 'cause they have GPS onboard. Sucks.
