You know how every so often, one may encounter a car that is a lemon? Well sir I think you are the first 370Z lemon driver.

No but for real, that sucks man. I'm sorry this stuff keeps happening. Life moves in cycles so surely after this your luck will get better.

rAiN 09-17-2013 10:41 PM

That's not going to happen. Don't set yourself up for disappointment saying it'll be fixed next week. Do you really want the body shop to rush?

Felix 808 09-17-2013 11:04 PM

Man that really sucks, (deleted uninformed response). Best of luck with it. :twocents:

Man that really sucks, but if this has happened before, you really need to learn how to adjust/set the parking brake, park in gear & chock wheels to curb. There is no reason your vehicle should roll out on you. Sorry not trying to bash on you, but a little more attention to detail sounds like it could have prevented this. Best of luck with it. :twocents:

Someone rolled INTO HIM last week

MDZOwner 09-17-2013 11:07 PM

@OP, sorry these things keep happening! Our other car took a hit the other day and it's frustrating! It would look weird but the side of me that likes to laugh over crap (need humor right?) thinks it might be helpful to employ one of these whenever parking in public lol.

CarCapsule - The Original Car Bubble

Thankfully things can be fixed and you'll be back driving in no time :driving:

DIGItonium 09-17-2013 11:09 PM

I'd advise you to park in gear as long as your car doesn't run into something on startup O_o

1st 09-17-2013 11:13 PM

Its actually the 4th. Your side skirt, dmv, hopping the curb and this.

Minsu 09-17-2013 11:13 PM

Hey Andrew once again you always go above and beyond. plz plz plz tell me when your on the east coast. and car bubble ey? how long does it take to deploy haha.
yea but the thing was i reversed out of the spot and the railing is a huge semi circle. i clutched in neutral and then i guess i was already close to the rail when i let off the brakes boom. so yea after a workout and trying to get out of the small spot i was already in just things didnt add up. but hopefully i can get it all fixed for about 2k. tail light rear bumper and rear quarter panel. 350 tail light 450 bumper 415 quarterpanel plus repair and paint

I'm thinking your labor and paint costs are too low, maybe by half.

Man hope it wasn't fixed yet when this happened. Best of luck & hope this feeling https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/i...YtCbms8zF6ql5A goes away soon

Minsu 09-17-2013 11:22 PM

so the labor and paint itself will cost 1.2k?

At least. Maybe double that.

Minsu 09-17-2013 11:35 PM

double 1.2k? sheesh

Chuck33079 09-17-2013 11:36 PM

It could be. It could be less. Go get your estimates and go from there.

DIGItonium 09-17-2013 11:42 PM

If it makes you feel better I rolled in reverse and backed into my ex's car across the driveway a few weeks ago. The rear bumper damage is fairly minimal, but there is nearly a basketball sized dent where the fender meets the door. FML.

Minsu 09-18-2013 12:05 AM

ah so you hit the rear quarter panel as well but closer to the door.
i feel for you literally i feel for you

2xtreme1 09-18-2013 01:59 AM

Damn!! Best of luck from now on.

IDZRVIT 09-18-2013 07:53 AM

Car is jinxed. Get rid of it before it kills you!!!

Actually the quarter panel is fine - just one edge of the bumper. Surprisingly it didn't concave inward or anything. Just some minor scratches and slight waviness, so it's not enough to bug me to fix it.

enkei2k 09-18-2013 08:27 AM

your body shop is going to love you with all the repairs you need done.

$$$

Chuck33079 09-18-2013 08:31 AM

I'm starting to understand why your family pays such high insurance premiums if they have the same luck as you. Half of your current issues are not your fault. Half are on you, and could have been avoided. I'm not breaking balls, just pointing something out. Slow down and pay attention, and things are going to go much more smoothly for you. Don't get mad at yourself, just use this as a learning experience. In the scheme of life, you're still getting off easy. No one has gotten hurt, and everything damaged has been cosmetic.

kittens 09-18-2013 09:25 AM

If it makes you feel better I smacked into a parking garage wall cause I hit the brake and gas at the same time by mistake while leaning out the window to line up a parking spot

Minsu 09-18-2013 09:36 AM

After a nights sleep im finally not like wanting to punch myself, gonna go get some gas drop off papers at school and hit up body shops wish me the best of luck maybe Jesus can help me get this done for like 1800 heh.

jcosta79 09-18-2013 09:50 AM

Looks like your phone got hit too.

coolvans1988 09-18-2013 10:52 AM

Is this your first car?

First car thats stick. So its been a little over two months. But you live and learn never gonna make this mistake ever again. Haha. and instead of replacing the panel i decided to repair it. so Tail Lamp (Replace)/Bumper(Replace)/and Quarterpanel (repair) is 1700.

Chuck33079 09-18-2013 10:59 AM

So you're cutting corners to save money on body work? That always goes well. Spend the extra. Get it fixed right. How pissed will you be if it doesn't look right forever because you went cheap?

Minsu 09-18-2013 11:02 AM

They guaranteed me its gonna look like new. and if i want to replace the quarter panel its gonna have to be rewelded and there gonna have to take out the back window and alot of interior things i dont want them to touch anyways.

Chuck33079 09-18-2013 11:05 AM

I hope that's the case.

Amj2020 09-18-2013 11:25 AM

Beware of any body shop that says they will make it 'look like new' for some insanely discounted price. I always find out the paint does not match, clips missing, panels dont line up, defects still visible, etc etc etc etc etc.

Your luck is not strong with this particular car, maybe fix it, sell it, and move on:P

That's what I was getting at. Cheap body and paint work looks cheap.

coolvans1988 09-18-2013 11:36 AM

Could of gotten a nice FI exhaust and some HFC with that cost of body work.
Best of luck on your parking skills and where you park it.
