Man, I wish I could have gotten a 1M. That thing is saah-weet.

gbrettin 09-16-2013 01:28 PM

I'd trade my 370z for a 1M in a New York second.

One of my track club members has a 1M DD. I too am envious.

Street racing videos now? This should be quick and painful.

Personally, I believe the Subaru Imprenza WRX STi and the Lancer Evolution, those two should beat any other cars if run on the public road like locals :D

It would be better to assume running on the track or whatever 'unlimited' (and flat road - of course).

Yeah, probably.

Chuck33079 09-16-2013 01:31 PM

Mods are distracted by spammers. Quick, everybody post kill stories and street racing videos :rofl2:

Mt Tam I am 09-16-2013 01:34 PM

On the track 335i and 535i fall to us naturally. M3 (M92) no way, M5 I'm not sure as I've never encountered one at the track.

Folks that drive M5's and M6's on the street seem to baby them, in my experiance.

No replacement for displacement...

Nissan 370Z (VQ37VHR) Nice compact size but I always like inline smoothness myself.

BMW was a long-time advocate of Inline N/A engines. And for a good reasons. But when American and Japanses V6 competition pushed the HP envelope, BMW was forced to go turbo route.

BMW can make big HP without Turbos. It's just cheaper to do with Turbos. They save the big power naturally aspirated engines for the M's. I don't have the figures in front of me but I see allot of $$$$$ to prove a 370z could be made faster.

These days the M cars are turboed.

NICE! I wonder if they are as bullet proof as the Supra Engines. I bet there are still some Supra's out there that can beat allot of cars on the track.

Chuck33079 09-16-2013 02:02 PM

The new M5/6 is a TT V8, so I'm sure there's more power to be made. No BMW will ever be as bulletproof as a Toyota.

JungleZ 09-16-2013 02:05 PM

When will people realize this isn't a straight line drag racing car.. Yet z fanboys still drool over twin turbo kits so they can barely smoke a modified muscle car that doesn't have as much cash into it..

That is one sick Z, and def fast. I've driven to some shows with him here in NY. Awesome guy and super clean car.

Vichtz 09-16-2013 10:35 PM

I rode in a 500 something horsepower supra yesterday and now all i want is BOOST. Its easy to sell off the Z as "a good twisties car", and I was okay with that till yesterday. Big turbo power is no joke. When he hit the gas my butthole got tight enough to crush a water bottle. I want that in my car...

This could really open up a "whole" new world of dating opportunities for you.

Chuck33079 09-16-2013 11:06 PM

What size water bottle? 20 oz? A liter? Full or empty? There's a big difference.

I rest my case... :happydance:

synolimit 09-17-2013 01:22 AM

Both suck on the track and need upgraded from stock with heating issues all around. Its hard to say when heavily modified. As for 1/4 mile beating...

WRX is lighter and faster :happydance:

jaedub 09-17-2013 01:42 AM

M5 and M6 power to weight ratio sucks. Both weighs over 2 tons.

Troyz 09-17-2013 09:20 AM

No matter who wins the race, you still have a beautiful 370Z and they have a car that looks like a Toyota Tercel with a hood scoop.

I did a spirited drive with a new 2013 M5 owner recently. He spent just over 100k ote.

The thing is nasty, spacious, brutal tone from the quad tips. His car was definitely the faster car, but not to the point of ridiculousness.

Ultimately, he spent as much time drooling over the Z as I did over the M.
The takeaway we agreed on (he is in his 30's and me in my 20's) was that the M is nasty, but for 30k the Z is still a helluva lot of car if you can drive it well.
That MUST mean something coming from an M owner! :stirthepot:

No car can ever be built to beat another car ever....it is impossible.
