It all started on a Forum (Audiworld at the time). The first GTG was in PA where virtual friends actually met each other. Very informal, about 60 people showed up. Year 2 became more involved with the GTG at Asheville with drives to the dragon. That was by far the biggest at 130 cars. Over the years, People at the TT events came in from all parts of the country including Alaska. We're a pretty tight group. The TT events pale in comparison to the Mini GTG's that number 500+ cars (same location as Z days). It does take a lot of work and organization to pull off...

The group Photo at the Biltmore in '02. TT's as far as the eye can see!

Yea, I guess I was thinking something smaller along the lines of the recent one with your friends. There can't be that many of us (370Z members here) in the southeast right now.

We've done plenty of small events too, sometimes Impromptu like a fall dragon run etc. Sometimes we'll just do a shout-out, Be here this weekend, here's the hotel info, etc. I've got photo albums of about 30 car related GTG's we've done over the years if you want to cruise through them here: TT Events | Ttschwing | Fotki.com You'll notice one of those was in Charleston! (Beautiful town BTW!)

Ah yes, the Battery as the locals call it. It's a fun town, plenty of places to eat and get into trouble after hours :icon17:

Yeah...Probably very similar Mike...I think I'll have to go to that next year. There's lots of car groups that do something similar..I know the Boxsters have been having a Blue Ridge Parkway GTG for 7-8 years, or the Vette GTG at the Museum every year..Always fun to combine cars and friends in a neat locale...:-)

Since you are remembering many good times, my brother Michael (TT) said to say hi. My not be the place but I did order your DIY oiler cooler and will install soon. By the way my brother is now into Vettes.

Ah! You're Michael's brother! We just exchanged a few emails on this! Yes, we go WAY back in the TT community. I'm well aware of the Corvette connection as I had an '08 that I sold for the Z..

Michael said to pay attention to your "mods" as you are always working on something to improve the current car of choice.

LOL...Yeah, I'm a Mod junkie...with a little Macguyver mixed in. Ironically, it created a business which, years later, still keeps me busy on the Audi stuff...;)

All the Z mods to date are here: 370Z stuff | Ttschwing | Fotki.com

BTW, Nice Triumph...I've got a bit of British in my past as well!

I used your Stillen install and changed to the t-bolt stainless clamps. Just started it up this morning. I have a small leak at the slip joint just behind the passenger side HFC. Sounds raspy at 2k.

I also have a '59 TR3A as a project.

We have ancestral roots in North Carolina, but they are from a clan of drunken Scots.
