Once modded not even a contest. Evo hands down, without a question. You doubt it? May want to look harder into it.

Wrong, not when modded.

Look at it like this... XTREMEBOOST had a full bolt on evo X (thats no tune / no fuel upgrades / no meth etc) that ran 11.9

You will need to be FI w/ about 15k in your car to be able to run that time... Goodluck

If he is stock it will be a drivers race - but he has his AWD launch which is awesome...

so here are your options:

If the Evo is stock - if you get a good launch your nismo will be ok (still close)
if he is modded at all - no hope at all for the Z

But if you were to open a 1/2 mile drag strip - your stock Z will destroy the Evo... they suck at putting power down up top.. and the run out of juice quickly - but when they have juice - you just cant eff w/ em...
Well said

Plain and simple, if you bring modding into the game it's not a drivers race, it's not really even a race. The Evo has launch control, AWD, and is more responsive to mods. Multiple 8 and 9 second 1/4 mile Evo's out there. It's easy to make a 10 second stock block Evo these days. If you want a drivers race do a fully built Z with TT vs a lightly modded Evo.

Spank? Evidently your friend is misinformed. Similar 0-60 times/Quarter mile times w/ a base Z, depending on how good a driver you are, you "should" take this one. Direct him to the new issue of DSport, the base Z put down better times than both the EVO and STI. Also while your at it, tell him to take his matchbox rally car back and get something that men drive, not a zit faced teenager drivin, turbo'ed family car.

You're misreading the opening post. This is not a stock vs stock comparison. This is a modded vs modded comparison. Way to stereotype the Evo drivers. Call it what you want, but the average "matchbox rally family car" will outrun and outcorner you. They are capable of much more than you would assume they are. I think you would also find that Evo drivers are just like the Z drivers. Same age range, maturity, and love for cars. I hate to see anyone stereotyping an entire community like that.

if you noticed, he said ABSOLUTELY nothing about light or heavy mods, stock for stock, its a drivers race. And my stereotypical views are my own, thats why we have these things called "opinions". The EVO/STI styling is nothing close to being refined, ugly as all shyte IMHO, they are designed for race use and thats it. I'll put my next paycheck on the fact that my Z will turn far more heads than an EVO 10/10 times, which is why I bought it. Suuuuure an EVO can be a track beast, but whats funnier is that Steph Papadakis in his junkyard EP3 Civic routinely eats your turbo box for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As I recall, just for shytes, he bought one for 500, turbo'ed it, built his own suspension and posted full second better times at Buttonwillow than 60K plus built EVO's. Lets not get into a pissing match here, I state facts, not BS.

Thumbs up

oh did I mention that this was done for a total of 5K? And you as well as I know that mods for that car arent cheap. The 4B11 can only withstand 400-450 whp before they blow, now when we start talking about forged internals... how much we talkin now? BTW 8-9 sec EVO's will cost more to build than most Z owners make in a year.

You bought a car for other people is what you're saying? LOL.

Drive next to me and I gaurantee I'll turn more heads (although I do snap my neck any time I see a 370Z).
