Regardless, let's hope that check covers everything without any surprises. After my wreck, the body shop requested more money from the other insurance after finding out some things couldn't be replaced or there was more damage than initially thought.

yes if you have comprehensive insurance. that covers acts of vandalism.

It did, but I still had to pay my deductible ($500).

I got rear ended a few months ago by a lady that was stopped behind me and then didn't have her foot on the brake hard enough and rolled into me. Put a crease between the fog light and bottom of the bumper. Cost to repair and pay 3 days for a rental car was $1000 to her insurance. I'll bet that taillight lense alone is $300.

Hey bro sorry to hear that, I just got my car back yesterday from the body shop a truck hit me about a month ago. I also live in jersey (north jersey). I can pm u the body shop if you want they did a great job on my car. I have a PW and the color match is insane.

That sucks! I know exactly how you feel. I was yelling at the guy who hit me. I was rear ended 2 months after I picked up my car -- small dent dead center on the plastic bumper -- estimate was $1500. Yours appear to be way more than that.

Had I known better, I would have cashed it and bought nice bumper and have some cash in my pocket. Good luck on your repairs.

If you get cut a check and put the money towards upgrades, depending on the look you are going for you might want to consider this;

Seeing as how you are going to have to replace a tail light, take a look at the JDM Clear tail lights.
A set of the JDM tail lights go for low to mid $700s so $355 gets you about half way there.
Many places carry them.

They are easy to install.
There is a good DIY some where in the forum.

I got a set on my Z (Paid $730 for mine).
I also have stealth turn signal light bulbs installed.
Gets rid of the egg yoke look.

Plan on tinting mine at a later date.
Tinted/Smoked JDM tail lights are very nice

and I got hit by a tractor trailer once...we exchanged information (just like your situation, no cops or tickets or insurance involvement,I got an estimate), and he sent me a check just like he promised. Hopefully your accident will be handled as well. :tup:

OP sorry to hear about the damages. It amazes me how people could be so careless with other peoples property. I mean on the bright side though it couldve always been worse and thankfully the person was still there at the scene and didn't run. You couldve had sh!tty luck like me last week when someone crashed into my car in the parking garage of my complex which is gated to the public. I parked over night with the Z looking prestine and woke up to her looking like a $2 hooker :-( and of course they left and haven't been seen since. So I feel your pain man, we can get through this together :rofl2: lol..keep your head up

shoot it looks bad on your car cause its white! mine is un noticable from a distance.
I almost thought it was a bad dream from far away, when i got close....i woke up and realized...it wasnt a dream. but yea i sent her the estimate and told her she had a week and three grace days before i file a claim. so hopefully within two weeks my car will be pristine once again.

I always go thru my insurance! People are very fake, I take the Ins. Name, Number and License plate. Then let my insurance handle it.

Unless its someone I trust, an insurance claim is going to be filed. I just don't trust Joe Public to dish out thousands for me on their own will.

So update:

The lady has another 4-6 days to get me the money.
Also I was going to the IRS office...and sigh I have a 7 inch Gps
on the most lower left side of the window and i of course i dont see the curb as i turn left
and BOOM car goes over the curb, bumpers look fine nothing happened to them. i gotta see what that loud boom was, so when they put the car on the lift to do the repair on tail light and bumper im gonna ask them to check the complete underbody as well. and also get an oil change while im at it. and an inspection.

Save some money and repair the bumper,we fix bumpers worse than that at my shop everyday.

W00+ a dum b!+tch, I'd ask for @ least $2.5k. Get that sw33+ aftermarket rear bumper n teh new tail lamp (maybe even JDM, yo!). Make her pay 4 her N-competance @ drive'N (and urs)! :D
