Very weird. Factory service manuals all show a 170 degree thermostat for the Zs. Why have we been wrong for so long?

If all the info has been coming from the interwebz, thats probably why. I chase down mislabeled and misrepresented parts almost everyday, its very very very stupidly common.

So to get this back on topic, DE, you don't need a thermostat.

The Z1 Urethane mounts are really good. I have them in my car, motor and trans. My car has a slight vibration at times but nothing too bad.
If you end up going that route you shouldnt have to worry about them ever tearing again. |

Honestly, the trans mount anyone could do at home with basic stuff. You need socket wrenches, a way to lift the car a little, and an extra bottle jack for the trans itself. You basically hold up the rear of the transmission with the bottle jack (not raise it, just hold it in place), and then the support bracket that usually holds it up (with the mount you're replacing) just unbolts from the bottom of the car, swap the mounts, put the support bracket back in, and you're done. There's like 4 bolts involved all total.
