With VDC on, is it even possible to lose control of the car?

I've been pushing the car harder and harder each day, I'm still on base rims/tires and I've been hearing my tires screech lately, when I'm going too fast on a turn or accelerating too fast (Reving quick to 4k, still breaking it in). I also experienced a bit of fishtail when I'm accelerating too hard from a stop on wet grounds.

Not really sure how far I can push it before I regret it. I've been driving FWD cars all my life.

Am I going to kill myself soon?

Lol it's gonna be hard to loose control and crash with it on unless hydroplaning.

If you want to have fun, I suggest grounding the yaw sensor which is usually under the center console. That way VDC will be 100% off by a flick of a switch.

i wonder wats for supper tonight...

vdc only controls acceleration so yes, very possible to lose control with it on. if you havent gotten there yet, your not going fast enough ;)

remember there are only to states of driving, on the gas or on the brakes...... when in doubt just give it more gas!!!!

Time to go harder.

Driving hard with VDC on doesn't mean much. Don't go turning it off and think you can drive like you've been driving though.

Yes it is very possible.

VDC can only do so much to keep the car stable. In some heavy rain and strong winds I would imagine a wreckless driver in a 370z would eventually crash. Even with VDC on.

Actually it does mean a lot. Someone who is driving with VDC on and VDC isn't cutting in means he is driving properly. That statement only holds true if someone doesn't know how to drive and VDC is cutting in all the time.

What if tires screech but the VDC doesn't come on?

Is it caused by the base tires not being good (wide) enough? When I put on my Volks I'm going with 305s at the rear, I'm suspecting this would not happen?

How hard could I be accelerating when I'm keeping it under 4k rpm?

At the end of the day you have a powerful RWD car

On the street given all the variables of the road you can easily lose control even with the VDC on either due to you carrying too much speed into an intersection or you hammering as the wheel is losing grip due to the road surface

I suspect that your tires are probably bald? anyway you want to ease off the line in our cars and allow grip to build otherwise the VDC will limit you every time

VDC does not only control acceleration. It can also brake individual wheels to pull a car that is losing control back in line.

Once, I was taking a corner in the rain and the back end started to slide. The car automatically braked the outside front wheel to keep the car from losing control. It was very neat to feel it working and there is no way that anyone can perform that type of car control manually as there is no way for a person to selectively apply the brakes to only one wheel.

Honestly, I drive with vdc off regardless of the weather because I consider myself a very experienced driver. So, of I do start to lose traction, I find it easier for me to gain control with my experience vs having the computer fighting me to control it. But if you have to ask this question, leave the vdc on lol.

Yes it is possible to lose control with VDC on....
