ho hum go find a TTS and race him

marcelo929 11-20-2009 09:38 PM

Road and Track times on the TT-S also blow the MS3 out of the water

http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d..._datapanel.pdf

now you changed the whole TT-S vs MS3 to TT-S vs 370Z lol. I guess i'll just go ahead and agree to disagree. Only a real race would convince me otherwise. Good Day
:tiphat:

Nothing wrong with disagreeing.

My point in comparing the Z to the TT-S was to show that the Audi's performance specs are inflated b/c of its huge traction advantage. The Z is a much faster car but appears about the same for 0-60 and 0-100, etc. Exact same reason why the Mazdaspeed6 (AWD), which is 500 lbs heavier than the speed3 and has the same engine, is faster in the 1/4 mile. Getting onto the highway though is a different story.

Dude! Your car doesnt even beat the Solstice or the Sky and they are both the same setup as yours. Looks like others did more with their K04 turbo than Mazda did, sorry.

j.arnaldo 11-21-2009 07:59 AM

It's a matter of tastes & budget. The Z is a great bang for the buck 'cause it's a well-balanced Sports car (reliability, performance & price). Porsche seems to be the pick of most "experts"; you know, the guys who test cars for automotive magazines. So, don't worry, be happy! Are YOU satisfied with your beaZts?! Don't worry 'bout others' opinions regarding monZters! Just enjoy them--at least, I'm enjoying my '04.5 Touring Coupe to the max'!

0-60 slightly better due to RWD. 1/4 mile times favor the Mazdaspeed3.

Isn't there a Mazda forum you can hang out in? I mean what's the deal with you...you come into a an forum dedicated to the 370Z to talk about how great Mazda's are...does that really make sense to you?

My last post to him was to egg him on and he bit. Having some fun with him now.

This is such an odd post?! What did you hope to accomplish if I may ask? You joined a 370Z forum and basically bashed it. Did you make similar posts on the Mazda forums, Cayman forums, RX8 forums, or S2000 forums??? All I got from your post was you justifying your purchase of the Mazda...buyers remorse? And if I'm correct(which I think I am) you only posted this here right? Which tells me you wanted the Z but for whatever reason, you didn't get it, so you fabricated this to make yourself feel better about your Mazda. The Cayman is the only car that is comparable to the Z performance wise. Some of your opinions are also not accurate, IE S2000 vs Z... The 370 will walk an S2K on any road course in the hands of capable drivers. Although, autoX would be a different story. Congrats on your new car, but FWD=massive understeer and not the best way to put down power, but you already knew that. I hope you don't find this offensive, but it might be worth a read.

I wasn't the op on this post. The op didn't actually buy a Mazda, he bought something else, I think it was the Porsche Cayman if i remember correctly. I've driven a Cayman S, wonderful car. About the same power as a 370Z but doesn't have the NVH factor up high in the rev band.

The Cayman is the ugliest car Porsche has ever made. Fugly! Even more fugly than the bug-fugley Panamera and their SUV, which is hideous.

The 370Z is a beautiful car. What's wrong with a little NVH in a sports car? Are you some kind of sissy? :shakes head:

gnarf 11-22-2009 10:21 AM

not sure if this is gonna help, but during Car Magazine's PCOTY 2009 the Z was only less than a second off the TT-RS on a wet track...not bad considering the fact that the Z almost matched an $60k awd car with more power...the cayman s pdk on the other hand was about 1.5 seconds faster than the Z...damn we need a DCT in the Z...the new Z4 is still the ugly slowpoke

shows you guys how far the Z can go..

Rockingham lap times

here's one for anglessey national...the Z also did very well, make sure you compare with other AE PCOTY 2009 cars...since conditions are the same

Anglessey National

An engine should sing sweetly near its redline, it should feel like it wants to be there. The NVH factor has been the biggest complaint of the all the major auto journalists. I'd say it's probably the Z's only significant fault. And it's pretty good to only have one.

elmz 11-23-2009 02:53 PM

Please don't compare the Mazda 3 with the 370Z...its just not in the same class no matter who much you want it to be...I have never been interested in one so I don't have an educated response. But I would say maybe the Sky or Solstice or maybe the Neon SRT's or Cobalt SS....but not he Z.
