only 40 bucks. drive through the work zone on I-95 more than 12 mph over the posted limit and you can get one too!
Got one from the beltway of my daughters car that's registered to me. I think it was more like a $120 though.
These speed cameras are all over the place in much of Europe. |
Can't even read the plate, how did they know it was you?

So send them back a picture of a couple $20 bills.
But at least it's a nice picture. Are those F.I. catbacks?
lol there are tons of warning on 95 about the cameras.. They flashed me 2 years ago.. never got the bill though... apparently its a white suv on the side of the road +/or a camera under overpasses that takes the pictures
Buy some clear polarizing spray paint for your plate that blanks it out when it's photographed.
does that **** even work? ^^^
I use to get these all the time in Germany but the fine was like 20 euro. I got one in Texas cost me 80 bucks.

Touche cops! |
It looks like you're going 0 in the picture LOL. Tires don't even have that spinning effect on them.
Just do what I do...I display out of state tags on my car that belong to my brother. That way, when the speed cameras take a picture of my license plate, it gets mailed to my brother. It's foolproof... :)

the cameras are worthless unless the goal is revenue generation. people slow down to the speed limit 10ft in front of them, then speed right back up after. :ugh2: |

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they have them here. There are already red light cameras everywhere. Haven't had a problem yet, though.
just keep the dealer plate on = no ticket (unless you get pulled over lol)
Hmmm look up the Mythbusters show about avoiding the speed camera...I think there are two episodes about it. If I remember right none of that stuff worked.
agree with Madwi.... none of that stuff ever worked...only going a certain speed prevented the camera from triggering.... it was like 170mph.... challenge accepted? haha

I'm so scared of these living in the tri state. Only reason is i have out of state tags and i know its only a matter of time till the fwd it to my correct address. I wonder what the statue of limitations is on these fines.
we had these installed in college station. They were only active for 4 months before the city people literally petitioned them out. However, in that time I got 3 automated tickets for doing a rolling stop turning right at the stop lights in the mustang. All worth 80 dollars a piece. Stupid...
WTF is this, Big Brother is watching us?!! I've never seen this type of ticket before. The whole ticketing system is really getting out of hand big time. What happened to the old fashioned pull over by a real police officer. Soon enough you won't be able to take a sh*t without someone watching you, god forbid you miss the toilet bowl they'll mail you a ticket fine and provide the full video and photos of you missing the toilet.
You can literally take that photo, frame it, and post it up on your wall
Things like this make me paranoid about getting E-pass. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone goes, "Hey we know what time they're at Point A and Point B, couldn't we just measure the distance between them and figure out how fast they're going and then send them a ticket if they're speeding?"
^ thats unlikely due to traffic variables. Plus that would be much to expensive to implement on a car by car basis. I'm pretty sure these auto tickets are simply for generating revenue, nothing more. But we really have no excuse do we? After all, they only activate when we ARE breaking the law, as annoying as it is...
"I lent my car to a hobo that day. No, I didn't ask his name but please try to locate him and give him this ticket."

What about the license plate frames that have the flash detector that are suppose to flash high intensity LEDs to wash out the plate to a camera?

well at least in my case it was only 40 bucks and no points and not reported somehow to insurance so I don't guess I can complain at them making some money. I was speeding afterall so if it can't count on insurance or driving record I'm actually ok with this type of ticket. it's for over 10mph the speed limit. it was for 1mph over then yeah I'd have a problem but 10 over enough to seem ok.
Don't get me wrong, don't like it but in the scheme of things it could be a lot worse. |

Doesn't do anything against the video they use as back-up to the pic. They can just send you a screen cap of your plate. |
don't pay!!! The camera is rented by the city from a company. Once flashed a cop reads it and issues the ticket. After that its never in the police hands again because they have no proof who was driving the car. They even ask on the ticket "were you driving?" They can't ticket someone with no proof. The plates with the car, not you. First one I got I didn't pay. They said it was $100. 30 days later I got a letter saying it was $150. 30 days later it said i was going to collections and/or other consequences etc. guess what?? The cameras are setup by a company that rents them, collects the money, and gives a portion to the city? The police have nothing to do with the funds. They can't send me to collections if they don't know who is behind the wheel and they don't know my Soc. from a plate. it's been over a year now. Zero issue with collections (no ****) and I've been to the DMV a million times. Research this stuff as I did and you will find out. It's just a city revenue source.
I also had a city parking ticket once. Never paid. 6.9 years later that city finds me and does the same thing. After a few emails with the guy from that city wanting the money I ended up telling him to go pound salt its been 7 years. Come a month later and pretty sure after 7 years with statute of limitations they couldn't and didn't do anything. Also had a million from college parking. Never paid, never one issue. Only thing I'd be worried about is parking officials like in Philly driving around waiting for plates to hit. Well I don't live in Philly, have no tickets like in a down town area like Philly, and I've been pulled over lots of times with nothing from the cop but have a nice day. |
wow that's one way to get around it I guess...so far I've had 3 tickets, 2 when i was 18...been so long but i usually just up front and pay it .
