Gran Turismo 6 Mystery Car is Next Nissan Z?
 

Here is some food for thought....Not sure who all has been following the Gran Turismo 6 news but there is a lot of speculation that this image could be the next Z35 concept car

The are a few reasons why there many think it is.

#1 The proportions and roofline are similar to that of the Z and what was seen in the sketches of possible concepts when jay leno visited the design studio

#2 Its of a car thats not released yet, as the the makers of GT6 were coy when asked about it

#3 Gran Turismo has an extremely close relationship with nissan

#4 GT has exclusively debuted a Nissan for the first time in game before ( GTR in 2007)


One the other hand the game is launching this November and There has been no word of a Z concept making a debut at the Tokyo Motor Show( just the 3rd generation R35) and does the Z
carry enough gravitas to be a headlining car for the game? It sure is featured on the main menu for the current game.....hmm

Interesting... the shape could certainly be a Z. You may well be right.

I hate to suggest it, but BRZ STI? The front looks almost like a BRZ with wide fender flares.

could be my mind playing tricks with me tho.

Looks like it's gonna be pretty sexy whatever it is. I hope they don't make us wait until December to find out.

It does look like something along those lines..but it seems this car is a never before seen car according to the reaction when asked about it..... and it looking like a brz/frs might hint at a smaller next gen Z so that in itself doesnt dismiss the idea. All im saying is with GT Academy in full effect starting next month the partnership with nissan has never been stronger so to me it makes sense they could have partnered up to release the car to a key demographic in the game.. Not sure what it could be if its not the Z..

But it does also look like a BRZ, to me. If the next Gen Z looks like that, then fair enough. This is why I voted "maybe" in your poll.

Im also a maybe...not enough detail to get a good idea of what it is or could be. I hope its a smaller Z with a boosted engine.

At first It looked like the brz to me as well...but if you look the brz hood is much shorter than the one thats on that cover

I'll take a larger NA engine over a boosted smaller engine any day. Leaves way more options on the table for modding. Unfortunately if I had to guess I would say its going to be something like a 2.5L boosted engine.

I do not want the car much smaller maybe back to the size of the 350z or a little smaller but better looks of course. I want a 400+ HP car from the factory, what can I say im a dreamer lol

But then everyone will have 400+ hp. I personally like having double the hp over a stock Z :). But thats just me, haha. I do agree with the size though, but IMO there is not much they can do to improve its look. Although I say that now, at the time I also thought the 350z was perfect, haha.

There would be different price points to weed out everyone having crazy power. Im sure it would be close enough to other higher end cars to make most people go a different route too, which is why it will never happen.

I just found another forum that has been talking about this for a while. A guy has posted the tarp over almost every car that comes close. I would like to change my vote to the new Z concept lol nothing else fills the tarp properly.

Same here... the Z is getting left behind in the HP to weight ratio category. I want a Z that can outrun most of the similarly priced sports cars out there.

How much you wanna bet its this? Please note, when they say GranTurismo successor, they mean their car model, not the game. But the fact its spos to be smaller (about 911 size) I wouldnt be surprised if it was this. Also it would be a perfect, and ironic way to showcase it... I think Maserati has the clout for this...

It would be... hasn't GT showcased concept cars before? Or cars with cladding on them? I thought they did this with something...

Good chance of it being a Z... Both the Z and Gt-R have the canted roof line design. Whatever is under that tarp also has a canted roof. Though Porsche has a canted roof as well. Porsche's curve is different from Nissan. That roof screams Nissan.

Based on those lines.... I just might be getting another Z? :tup:

Almost looks like a maserati Grand turismo. my neighbor had one and our cars had a similar lines.

The viper deff has a good chance of being considered given its performance altho i think the Maserati looks closer to the side profile...

Outside of the idea of a redesign... the front clip, and rear tail dont look Zish to me... the mid section does tho... but hey it could change.

As soon as I first saw it I thought of the 2014 Corvette Stingray, new relaunch, lots of HP, curves are fairly similar with the exception of the wheelwells.

It could possibly be the Z35, the bonnet area looks far too BRZ style to be a Z in my opinion but if Nissan are doing a smaller engine maybe they can thin the bonnet out?
