Some people are #&!@$

After having a good time at some of my friends apartment Saturday night, I woke up Sunday to go home only to walk out to my Z to see someone hit me while trying to park and scraped up my rear drivers side read bumper. This person left no note! Nothing!
I guess I am just using this as a place to vent because my friends seem to think its no big deal.

:iagree:

nepali 06-11-2013 10:25 AM

Sorry to see that. Any surveillance cameras around?

Trips 06-11-2013 10:26 AM

That definitely sucks, But be thankful it wasn't worse :ugh2:

Some touchup paint will fix most if not all of it.

I know it won't make it go away totally, But most people may not even notice it unless you probably point it out to them.

SAmilitaryman 06-11-2013 10:28 AM

I had something similar happen. I was in the hospital for 4 days earlier this year. My car was parked in the hospital parking lot during that time. Came out and somebody had hit my baby in almost the exact same spot. Mostly superficial but i was hit hard enough to knock a spring loose from my parking brake.

enkei2k 06-11-2013 10:34 AM

it's their way of saying that you need to get an aftermarket bumper now.

think of it as a blessing in disguise.

fonzo179 06-11-2013 10:36 AM

Damn that's harsh man
As much as I try to avoid it, people scratch my sh!t too.
Sorry you had to go through that.

That's the support I expected from my friends lol. I guess they just don't understand what my Z means to me.

No surveillance around, its student living on campus so you would think they could invest a little in some cameras. My car got keyed on campus as well, in 3 different spots.

As a poor college student that's the last thing I could afford right now, I wish I could but its just unrealistic right now.

Sorry that happened.. Many people are just Irresponsible Jerks..

I can respect someone who makes a mistake and owns up to it...I cannot respect jerks who damage others property and just drive away...

Hope you get it fixed soon..

UNKNOWN_370 06-11-2013 11:24 AM

I stopped caring so much about my ride cuz when you care too much... more shyt happens.

Sorry man :(

Tward 06-11-2013 12:29 PM

Thanks for the support fellas.

Does anyone have any idea of what a full repaint would cost?
I have other imperfections on my Z other the scratch on the rear.

For good quality work... $4,000+ and can creep into the 5 digits depending on what you're looking for?

JohnsZ 06-11-2013 12:44 PM

No big deal??? It is to us Z owners at least! My guess is your friends are either jealous that you have the Z or they are driving beat up pieces of crap. I get a tiny chip in my paint and it's a BIG deal. Sorry to hear! Get her fixed up and in the future, I would drive another car to your friend's apartment which are most likely notorious places for the high chance of getting your car hit, scraped, or worse....stolen. Good luck!

I had to get rid of my G37 IPL for this reason. I got to the point where I did not even want to take it out of the garage. I was paying a crap load for a car I cared so much about I couldn't drive.

Your friend must have an ugly vehicle or not care for things that you work hard for. I would have been in detective mode trying to figure out who did it and I would be super mad.

Akmcmahon 06-11-2013 01:26 PM

Definitely blows. While it's no excuse for poor drivers and a-holes to cause damage to another person's property, it also ticks me off when people park poorly. You're over the parking line leaving less room for anyone to park next to you. Had they gotten into the spot, they probably would have made it impossible for you to get in your car or would have dinged your door if they had a passenger. It could have been much worse than it was.

Still sucks though. I know your pain.

I can totally understand that. That's how I felt about my '07 350Z Roadster which I finally got rid of because it just sat in the garage for 2 years. The only time I drove it in the rain was the day when I drove it to a dealer who I made a trade with. I never even knew if the wipers worked until that day.

I feel you. I was like that with all my cars till my 09 Z got totalled. It was my first accident in all my years driving. After that, I just said "fvck it" It's just a material possession that's replaceable. Now cars are just for fun. Nothing more... No more attachments... If they ding, dent etc??? I file a claim or i'll sell my car.

Montez 06-11-2013 04:50 PM

I would try this before I dish out major cash for that Dr. ColorChip Automotive Paint Chip Repair Kit - Dr. ColorChip: Automotive Paint Chip Repair Systems. I know people that have had good success with it.

Yep people give me $hit all the time when I get worried over scratches or damage to my Z! They think I am a nut job!

Just take it to a body shop and have them fix that area and feather in the paint. Yeah not as good as doing the whole bumper, but a lot cheaper. AND a lot better than touch up paint!

ka24king 06-11-2013 05:55 PM

In my old complex that would happen like once a month! Thank god I was still driving my g6 at the time cuz damn it looked like ****.

Masterbeatty 06-11-2013 06:11 PM

DAmn that sucks. Today I heard this wierd noise from my passenger side front wheel. When I got home I was missing two lug nuts and the other two were hand tight and lock lug was tight. So some dweshbag thought he could come up on my stock I base wheels. I guess times are rough when Phucs gotta do stuff so they can save a buck or two even though the other person has to suffer.

Zbrah 06-11-2013 07:48 PM

Don't feel so bad man, pick up one of these and you're good to go http://ijdmtoy.com/ebay/Misc/Decal/J...-decal-209.jpg

someone painted that line afterwards

seizer8 06-11-2013 11:18 PM

The car is just so sleek with no black rubber or chrome that scratches stand out like a turd in a punch bowl. I know exactly how you feel. I'm planning on having both my bumpers refinished for little stuff less than yours.

Leuz 06-11-2013 11:40 PM

Not to be the party pooper, but from the picture you are kinda parked with your wheels on the white line.....

Haha i hear you man but the parking spots at the apartment complex are compact parking spots. Its the same way on the other side as well. I am in the spot, I just will have to let my friends pick me up next time and not drive the Z.

Tward 06-12-2013 09:35 AM

Also when ever i first saw the compact parking spots my first thought was "i probably should avoid parking here because they are tight parking spots and i have a good chance of getting dinged."

Then i saw a GTR parked in one and thought maybe the people who live at the apartments weren't jack &@*&#

USMCASA 06-12-2013 10:10 AM
