If I drive my Z the same way it is *amazingly* fast. But most people don't drive their cars this way, and in the Z, it has enough torque that you don't have to in everyday driving. But when you do... holy cow!

It does require a recalibration of how you drive. Seven out of my last 10 cars were turbos, so I had lost the knack. Lower and mid-range torque are beautiful things. Usually there is not a lot of benefit in winding them out much above the torque peak. Not true when driving the Z. It makes its maximum torque and horsepower very high up in the rev range so you need to use the whole power band to extract its best. And the immediacy of naturally aspirated engines is really addictive. It took me a while to get back into that mode after I got my 370Z.

I suspect that you did not drive the Z in a way that extracts the most it has to offer. I highly recommend you spend some time hitting the redline before you give up on the Z!
lol i drove the **** out of that 370..its not an amazing amount of power really..i was surprised how close the power was to my pretty much stock eclipse with the boost turned up to 18 psi...dont get me wrong it is fast but i didnt like the flat spot in the power band around 5-6 grand

I looked briefly at the EVO X, but after seeing its interior and comparing it to the Z, its just a night and day difference on fit and finish. I wanted a vehicle that was a bit more mature, and refined.

Maybe this will help you decide...

So...you are on a date with a REALLY HOT chick. You pull up to pick her up and she says "Nice car. It looks just like my brother's LANCER!".

dude take it ez man..we are all enthusiasts here..if you wanna do vague challenging go post on youtube..but yea i considered an evo x..despite having awd and 4 doors...it has poor fuel economy 16/22 and has a 14 gallon tank...itll be a challenge to beat 300miles on a tank..and i kinda need a larger than because I dont want to fill up every 3 days due to my 80+mile per day commutes...another thing that is affecting me is its weight...it's gained some poundage over the 9 and is clearly heavier than the Z...other than that the evo is a performance bargain..I am considering the Z, EvoX, 135i and maybe a Camaro SS..I like the fact that the Z is just winning every comparison against 135i, Z4, RX8, Solstice GXP, Mustang, Genesis..and its an improvement in every possible way over the 350z..the EvoX is has not improved as much over the IX as the 370z with the 350z..they used a cayman as its benchmark...which is a higher level of engineering..you could say the 370z is Japan's corvette..
