Peel Out / Burn out whatever you wanna call it
Ok you all might laugh but this is a serious question from me.
Can you peel out starting in Second gear? |

If you wanna burn out, why not in 1st??? |
Go for it.....Say bye bye to your clutch though.
|
Chirping the tires in 2nd after burnout in 1st is fun
|
Chirping your tires ***** your transmission up.

Bad for your car Or Burn outs? :) |
I did a few 2nd gear peeled out before, even peeled out in 3rd in my Z.
Standing start, 8k clutch dump, car is cammed, n/a, stock tires, cold day tho. Clutch was fine afterward. i did it on the Trial Mountain Circuit |
Most people keep it in 1st and do a lil burnout. That goes to all most ricers. :roflpuke2:
|
;) no prob, at all! I just wasn't sure:tup:
I'm older than most too and female to boot...ima having lots of fun w this car and i have a husband who can fix it:tup: More 11s to come (and 2nd gear chirps) ;) |

Also I cannot read some comments....Burning out is fun, just do it where it is safe...Not at a stop light or where others are around...If you enjoy it, do it..If something breaks ? Well then we just have to fix it.... |
At the quarter mile track I would back up into the water then pull forward about 10-15 feet to do a burn out in 2nd gear to heat up the tires. In 2nd gear the tires are spinning faster and heat up a lot faster. The water makes the difference as it lets the rpms rise without traction. As far as the clutch goes I dumped it at 5500rpm and it hooked every time jerking the front left tire off the ground about 6 inches. However, I would never do it on the street.
BTW...This was a '91 Mustang with a Windsor. |

American Muscle ?
I have been known to leave long burnouts through second gear.... It has a close ratio 4 speed.. But the car is made for it....I will not treat the 370 the same way.. |

Op, simple answer is YES
Though it's NOT a good thing to be doing it every time you feel like doing burnouts But again it's your car. :ugh2: |
