Awesome comment I had yesterday

So I started dating a girl a couple weeks ago. We were out yesterday and she asked if she could drive the Z. Being the gentleman I am, I said sure. So we went for a spin and pulled into a parking lot. On the corner of the strip mall was a little restaurant with an outdoor seating area. She drove slowly by some people outside. I must add that our windows were down. One of the guys outside said, "Aww, he let her drive his car" in a really sensitive, sweet voice.

We started cracking up at how obvious it must have been or how out of place she must have looked behind the wheel. We're still laughing about it.
:happydance:

Lol, I'm glad you're not one of the guys that would rather sacrifice his testicles vs letting his gf drive his car

a girl at my work used "can you show me how to drive stick" pickup line on me. She stalled immediately i told her its not happening you need to learn on a beater.

It did seem a little early to get into something that serious, but she seemed eager to work a stick again. She said it had been awhile.

Your a beeter man than most, I've been married 18 years and my wife has never driven the Z. Good Luck

Chuck33079 05-17-2013 07:34 AM

My GF always wants to drive the Z. Once I explain how much of a pain in the *** the clutch/flywheel combo I've got in there is, she changes her mind pretty quick. She's not great at driving standard, and the Z isn't the most forgiving car to learn on.

Ziggyman 05-17-2013 07:46 AM

My wife doesn't even want to drive my car. She says I'm too anal about it so she rather not be responsible. I do let my son beat it on occasion.

:iagree: I've told her multiple times that I would teach her how to drive it, but she still refuses. She always reminds me of my reaction from when the car was a few weeks old and she ground gum into the floor mat trying to get it off her shoe.

Grindkiezer 05-17-2013 08:38 AM

My girlfriend has always wanted to learn to drive stick but none of her friends drive them, and the one that does really has no idea what shes doing. When we drive sometimes I let her shift while I drive which I believe built up her confidence to asked on our anniversary to drive my car :icon14: So I wen't to an empty school parking lot and drove her around for 10 minutes talking her through how to use the clutch and alternate clutch and gas and finally she hopped in the driver's seat. She took off once with the car jolting forward but she didn't stall it so  the next time not soo lucky, the car stalled and she started freaking out, apologizing, and then got out of the car cause she said she was done. At least she can say she drove a stick for 3 minutes :rofl2:

:eekdance: Not that I haven't stalled it before, but I would be kind of nervous letting someone learn on my Z.

:eek: You must really love her!

2xtreme1 05-17-2013 01:04 PM

Dang ...you let her drive your Z like that ..
You can say stuff is getting really serious now ..Lol .

USMCram 05-17-2013 01:11 PM

My ex used to put her hand on mine to get a feel for how the shifting worked. It eventually became enough for her to stop asking to drive the car.

Count me in as another one [of the lucky ones?] whose girlfriend doesn't want to drive the Z. I've offered and one time she even tried in a parking lot, but after that she didn't want to. I'm just afraid we'll be on a road trip and I'll break a leg or something. What then?

Fountainhead 05-17-2013 04:09 PM

Yeah, my wife thinks she can't drive a stick. All it'll take is to be in a group of couples and have one of the women say "I love driving a stick", and in a few days she'll be asking/hinting to try to drive it.
She wanted me to get an AT but I just couldn't do it.
She'll learn but naturally only when she's ready.
You gotta ease them into these things on their own terms

kenchan 05-17-2013 04:18 PM

my wife rode shotgun for the first time in 4yrs a few weeks back in my Z.

she can't drive MT so doesnt drive my 3 cars. the 4th car, which my wife uses, is also my car. the garage is my space, she doesnt go in there at all..her choice. as much as i dont mess with her servers and computers she has. :eekdance:

RiCharlie 05-17-2013 04:21 PM

I know this is crazy.. but i let my grandson drive mine...he is just learning to drive with me....First time he went through a red light and a stop sign..Anyone think I am crazy? I do!
