Wife totalled my Z

Wife was heading home from seeing her parents and hydroplaned. She went across the median and hit a semi trailer. She was doing about 50. Everything up to the radiator was torn off. An engine mount is broken. And the two frame 'rails' and folded over. I will upload pictures later.
Edit: Wife is fine

CSA0890 05-16-2013 07:13 PM

Oh sorry. Yeah shes fine. Burns on her wrists from the airbag deploying.

Trips 05-16-2013 07:13 PM

Wow the HELL with the Z!!

Whats more important is your wife Okay?

The Z could be replaced But really sorry to hear about it. :(

CSA0890 05-16-2013 07:18 PM

I was very surprised how well the car did. The interior compartment is completely fine. Except for where the air bags came out. These cars are very well built

GaleForce 05-16-2013 07:22 PM

Sorry to hear about your car. Happy to hear your wife is ok.

mag_black 05-16-2013 07:25 PM

Sorry to hear about the accident -- at least no one got hurt.

Bucketlist2012 05-16-2013 07:44 PM

Glad your Wife is OK...Cars are just things...Yes we love them, but they are just Cars..People are way more important, especially loved ones..

Thank god that's it.
Those burns suck, but it could've been hundreds of times worse.

(Just know that the pain starts on day 2-3, so please be sure she gets pain killers)

Wonka2581 05-16-2013 08:12 PM

God Im sorry brother,

Too funny, no Enkei wheels ? I had Black Enkei 92 series before on my Z/28 but it was the 1980's and they were in style then...

And that 370Z took one BIG hit but the passenger compartment looks good, thank GOD..:tiphat:

CSA0890 05-16-2013 08:30 PM

Im not getting another Z :(:(:( I want another of course but I need something more practical. Its been a pain for the past year trying to haul around a 100lb Akita. Its bad when a Mustang is your 'practical' car. Anyways I was thinking about another Cobalt SS but in a sedan this time but they are nearly impossible to find. Now im looking at SUVs and trucks.
Any recommendations?

Bucketlist2012 05-16-2013 08:40 PM

Oh never haul a 100 lb Dog around in a Z car.

Quick story...My Wife took our Wolf Mix 100 Lb Dog for a ride in our 300ZX years ago...The dog got scared and EMPTIED his poo out all over the car...I had to remove both seats, the console, the carpet and all the Interior that night to clean it....Man that was terrible...

So an SUV would be better...And man that 370Z took a big hit pretty good. No windshield breaking and the Interior stayed solid...

CSGLEON 05-16-2013 08:43 PM

What about the Z sedan v8 coming out 2015 or the Z pickup???? Or even the Z minivan for people who just can't let go of a Z??

DOOMMONKEY777 05-16-2013 09:01 PM

Back in 2010, my wife totaled my 08 350z. Now I live the boring life of practical cars while dreaming of new Z ownership...don't do it!

CSA0890 05-16-2013 10:07 PM

lol Im afraid thats where I am going.

I think I might buy it back and part it out. Anyone interested in a VQ37?

madwi 05-16-2013 10:12 PM

You won't make your money back on a buyback/part out

:icon18: Excellent words of wisdom, trade the Stang instead, unless it's a Boss or better.

Glad to hear that your Mrs is fine!

LakeShow 05-16-2013 10:43 PM

Sorry to hear that, glad the wife is okay, that's most important. A car is car and it can be fixed/replaced, a life cannot be replaced. Hope to see the Z back 100%.

faya 05-16-2013 11:03 PM

We will be happy for you to have another Z..

Obviously you don't have touring! Lol
And THAT'S why the base is uncomfortable and the touring is MUCH better to be in for 6+ hours

Tigger 05-17-2013 01:15 AM

I'm sorry to hear about these misfortunes.

And not to take things too lightly but given everyone is fine I thought it might be good to add that the can of Coke survived as well, albeit, being all over the damn place.

SS_Firehawk 05-17-2013 01:31 AM

Man, sorry for your Z loss :( Glad your Wifey is fine. And I'm happy to see how well it took that hit. You could get a JX37 of FX37.

raymondo510 05-17-2013 02:17 AM

Glad she's ok bro

thekinn 05-17-2013 06:44 AM

How was the tire tread pre-accident? Was she driving on bald tires?
