I've had good experiences with Forged with parts. They were very responsive to the problems I had with my JRZs and took good care of me.

I've seen some really great work by them on a local Z33 too. Built engine with damn near 900HP IIRC.

As an extremely active sponsor on GT-R life it's quite disheartening to see something like that go down. 90% of that thread consists of people agreeing with the OP (which there is no doubt in my mind why they wouldn't) and the other 10% are those who are kind of just riding the bandwagon. I speak from another vendors point of view, but it's mainly the sour projects and customers that get heard and drown out all the positive reviews, projects, and builds.

OP is looking for feedback on Sharif's tunes, it would be nice if this thread could stay on topic and informative for the the OP and others who may run into this thread. Keep all the FP vs X in the other thread if you feel the need to rant

Thanks Khoi; I just woke up and saw how this was going. I agree completely and I'm not trying to further bash them or compare them to another company. I'm looking for personal experience only.

On a side note: I love AAM and so far do continue to promote you based on my experience and product :)

Pheonix,

YOU brought up and even linked the thread in question and listed it as a reason you were second guessing your future arrangement with them. I would let that be all the proof you need to look elsewhere. Every horror story you have read probably started out with that person thinking "oh, the stuff I read was just a fluke, that won't happen to me" then next thing they know, they're making their own thread. Quality shops have problems yes, but you never hear about it happening over and over with similar circuimstances.

My order for tuning would be Dynosty, Forged, and then Z1. I know several folks who have driven down from the Detroit area to get tuned by Hal @ Dynosty and a couple who used Sharif.

Sharif tuned my 2012 sport/touring Z last fall, and I've had no problems with it. I have the NISMO R-tuned CAI, Z1 HFC, and HKS Hi power Catback. I had it on Roebling Road Raceway last month, and it screamed.

All I can say is the tune worked out for me.

NA tunes are super easy. High end power is a different story.

Sure each shop has its issues but the fact that a shop owner would let his employees treat a customers car like that just goes to show you that they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER! Any real shop would stand up to their work and not let a vehicle leave the shop unless the customer was satisfied. Check out the other reviews on them. Sure there's a few good ones for people getting simple rotors and brakes, to wheels being mounted, an exhaust installed, etc, but those are mindless installs that most everyone should be doing themselves.

Major upgrades like turbos kits or engine builds tend to get done at shops because you count on competent technicians to do the install and back up their work and knowledge. Check out more of the bad ones on Forged Performance like the G37 installs gone wrong. Forged LIED to the customer and install the wrong turbos and they used hammers to bash in a down pipe for clearance. Zero respect for the customer.

I wish you guys knew all the other tricks that were going on. The last time I was there I just paid and left and thought nothing of it cause I was treated right. But months later looking at my statement I had tires changed out and was watching him do it. Took 1 1/2 hours and got charged for 3 1/2 hours. I wasn't even there but 2 total. Key word PRINCIPLE. A gangster would of had your legs broke. Sharif wouldn't of done that. But his lead sales manager did. I remember the sales guy asking the tech how long it took but they were being sneaky about. But I paid no attention at the time. Who knows what little scams are pulled daily to bring in thousands.

IF anybody goes to Forged performance after reading that thread. your ******* stupid. the guy spend 250K and thats how he was treated. so again why in the hell should you go there?

ZKraken22 05-10-2013 09:03 PM

I agree, but the OP was going to get was a tune. That's what I had and had no issues. All the other stuff, is in another area which I would be cautious with regardless of the vendor.

G37sHKS 05-11-2013 09:21 AM

People who are saying they had no issue with Forged performance installing intakes and exhaust, are you guys serious?! i can do that for you and for free..

Dont compare your experience with people who went there for major upgrade.

Forged Performance sucks and i thought Sharif fired that guy who did the bad installation for a g37 coupe with GTM Twin turbo kit (You remember when you said that Sharif dont you?)

GTM was right when they decided stay away from Forged Performance..

theboydiddy 05-11-2013 12:46 PM

This is beyond bizarre !
But there is and there was thread about them before. Why even consider them ?
This is an awesome law sue to your advantage since it seems you have all the evidences.
You're the 3rd incident (that i have read. im sure there is more than that) in their shop with major work to be done, that was shitty. Have you consider contacting "help me Howard"? All jokes aside. Perhaps involving the media in this may help. Just a thought.
