Default Had a super CLOSE call.

Car: 2012 370z 6sp
Mechanically stock @ 15k miles

Me and my friend in a 2500 cummins modified with aurora 5000 turbo, full billet trans and supporting mods have been back and forth since i had my car bout a street pull. well tonight i let it happen and well my dumbass turned traction off with damp roads. Hit 3rd gear and went into driver mode..3 lane and emergency lane and about 10ft of the grass was ALLLLLL mine. Ended up doing a complete 360 and back cruising the correct direction i was going.

Problem....car will not go past 3500 rpm.

Ignore my late night stupidity and help me out. Yea it's under warranty but im more of a troubleshoot myself type. Not used to the nissan electronics malfunctioning coming at me. I know my evo from bumper to bumper so if tech lingo needed...spit it.

Thanks

Had this problem at the track. If it's the same issue then the fix is to:

disconnect the battery.
Hold your brake in to drain the remaining power from the car (1-2minutes)
reconnect the battery

Should be good to go after that. I don't know exactly what the root cause of the issue was but that was the recommended fix (got it from another thread while I was in the pit, can't remember the thread title though.)

Yeah, battery disconnect, make sure you remove the NEGATIVE, Nd it doesn't take long to drain the battery at all

Instead of disconnecting the battery and losing the ECM tuning data (plus radio presets and the window auto-up function), get an OBD scanner (from under $50 to as much as you want to spend)*, see what the ECM thinks went wrong by reading the error code(s) (write it/them down, just in case), and then clear the code(s). If that doesn't work (it should), then try pulling the battery cable.

Edit: Or you can borrow or rent from most auto parts stores.

Lowlifer response much?

Maybe he's not doing the right thing by pushing it on the street, however you're a filthy animal for wishing a wreck upon anybody. Disgusting.

By street pull, you mean track pull or drag strip pull right?

Because this forum doesn't condone street racing...or any other type of illegal stuff.
