"Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May immerse themselves in the world of classic cars to find out if they really are, as the anoraks claim, more fun than modern machinery. Armed with a budget of 3,000 pounds each, they attempt to buy a pre-1982 car at auction. Rather than undertaking a series of challenges to see who has got the best deal, the trio are sent off to Majorca to take part in one very big challenge - a seemingly unfathomable classic car rally.

i'd rather have clarkson than may, but hammond would have been ideal for this one. he adored his 300zx in the latest episode, until clarkson messed with him. :D

Will the tame racing driver run it around the track?

I reckon/hope so - which do you think would win - new Z4 or the Z? If they compare it with the most powerful Z4 it will be close.

It would be really close, but it may be the Z4. What time are you guessing for the Z? We should start a new thread....?

Clarkson didnt' like the 2003 350z because it felt cheap, wasn't exciting to drive, too heavy, and not fast enough. The 370 has a far better interior, feels much more lively, handles much better, gained more power and less weight. I don't think European car review sites realize the difference in pulling power from the 2003 and an 07 let alone the 370. I hope he drives them back to back (the 03 and the 370) to get an understanding of how much better the new car really is. He still won't like the sound because it is coarse and rough at high rpms. He'll probably hate on the synchro-rev saying its for bad drivers and then start to like it near the end of the test realizing few people can match revs perfectly every time especially on a track. He'll either say it's an evolution that's still too much like the early 350z model or be unbiased and realize its the best sports car for the money period.

Clarkson will probably claim they weren't able to complete a lap because it overheated.... or put up a 3 minute time due to limp mode!

Hmmm - that is a difficult one, as I've not driven the car yet (making my excuses already!).

I realized that you are in the UK and BBCA does not show the show live. Will have to wait till next season to see it......

It's the video of last week's episode. If you are able to see it, it will be easy to link you to the 370Z episode after it has been broadcast next Sunday (but I have a horrible feeling it may only be watchable in the UK - hope I'm wrong).

Me too, it starts to load and give the that error.

If you have a TV tuner card and record television shows, you can upload it to youtube.

That's good - and very interesting too - often the BBC limit their online streams to UK ISP's. I wonder how come it's working for you and not for the others.

finalgear.com looks like it may be a solution - but I'd still like to capture it for you nice people if someone can tell me how.

Ok, might have a solution. I have some people in the UK who can record shows, and he said he will record it and upload to our FTP for me to get. I will then have to download and see about converting it so I can put it on youtube.

I don't think the 370Z can beat out a BMW M3 CSL around the TG Test Track. 1.28.7 is my guess.

top gear is scheduled for monday 27 at 5:00 pm
