Default Car Wash Question

For those who have taken their 370 Z to the car wash. Have you noticed that the front black plastic spoiler under the chin was scraping off the 2 aligning tracks when going through the car wash??? or is the car wash that I go to has those tracks higher than usual?

Youre crazy if youre going to a pull your car through car wash, thats just asking for the lower parts to be ripped off.

I wouldn't take the car to an automatic car wash. The brushes used to mess up the paint, plus they would fight you tooth and nail to NOT pay for anything torn off the car.

It's more enjoyable (at least to me) to do it yourself. Better yet, have some girls wash it. Maximum enjoyment.

I never take any car through an automatic car wash. I will take my truck to the self sprayer type once in a while though.

Google the two bucket method and wash it yourself. Do some research on detailing - you have a beautiful car - keep it beautiful! A little knowledge will go a long way in preserving your car.

This^ and if you dont have any place to bucket wash dont sweat it. When I was on the ship I would just take a bucket to the spray and wash and use that instead of their grungy *** stuff. Sure they have signs but no one ever said anything to me.

i simply don't have the time to hand wash my car enough to keep it clean... i hand wash it whenever i can, but when i don't have the time i'll just take it to a TOUCHLESS wash.

obviously, it won't give you as nice a wash, but it won't hurt your car either

I use these touch-less washes also when I can't wash by hand. Its better than leaving contaminants and dirt on the car. They also do a good job of cleaning the under side of the car. On the down side, any high pressure wash is going to strip your polish off.

I love how a bunch of you criticize the guy instead of answering his question...

Anyway, I use a hand-wash carwash and haven't noticed that the pulling track is hitting the black spoiler.

what you want to do is maintain the car rather than wash it very time it gets dirty. if you want to maintain the car, you would have to wipe her down everyday and clean off the bird poop asap as it happens. most of the time, people just can't keep up with the weather and birds.

what i do is use the ultimate quick detailer at least 3 or 4 times out of the week and use the california duster to get all the dust off the car and use the UQD afterwards. this helps maintain the car and gives it some protection

if you manage to maintain the car everyday, it's rather pointless to wash the car. and you can probably do it just once a month or before you wax your car.
