Swift or H&R - camber kit necessary?
So I read through the whole 9 page thread talking about H&R and swift springs mostly...
What i gathered so far is that.. Swift: -less drop (in the front) -higher quality ride -less body roll H&R: -a little more drop in the front -ride quality ???? not a single commentary -body roll and performance - not as great as swift So besides the question of ... how does the z feel on the H&Rs, do we need a camber kit? I would like to go lower with the H&Rs as i do not track the car and the aesthetic purpose by far overrides performance for me where I live, however if without a camber kit this is not doable the whole price jumps up 2-3x that of swift.. and swift becomes much more desirable then :ughdance: |
How low do you need to go? You trying to be hella flush? If not, the Swifts drop, IMO, is just right:

I had a buddy with Teins and they rubbed after installing... The H&R are better I think than the Teins but, Swifts win hands down IMHO...
Having said that, rear cambers are a GREAT investment considering the price of tires! |
im on swifts and its a pretty decent drop. I didnt need a camber kit and as far as alignment goes, im extremely close to stock. Not dead on but enough to where it wont affect much.

With my Swift and wheel setup, I was able to get away without needing a camber kit for the front wheels. The rears definitely needed it.
IMO, I wouldn't go any lower than what Swift has to offer. I'm already bottoming out quite a bit haha. |

I'm on H&Rs and love it. Sits low and looks great. Ride quality is stiffer that stock. I love it. Please don't compare it to coilovers or swifts+yellows which a lot of swift fanboys do. The ride will be different. Mind you, Springs plus yellows take you entry level coilover territory. Unless you upgrade to springs plus better shocks or coilovers, you're only making it look really good.
If you are going for a nice, planted, and low sitting Z go for the H&Rs. BTW, I have rear camber arms and none in the front. Stock tires http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps1d832de3.jpg w/PSS tires on this one. http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8fe91217.jpg |
