There are little things I dislike but at the end of the day I don't regret it.

No car is perfect so yeah.

I don't see anything wrong with the question being asked in your original post. You know, people have different experiences with the same car. I know some people who have regretted their 370z purchase. And if I had experienced similar problems with my car, I might well feel the same as they did.

enkei2k 03-19-2013 08:38 PM

Not going to lie, sometimes I do.

Sometimes I wish I settled for a different car because:

- insurance would be less
- if it gets dinged, I wouldn't cry like a baby
- less urge to mod
- less storage space/passengers
- wouldn't have to wash it every other week

But MOST of the time, I'm OK with it.

shadoquad 03-19-2013 08:40 PM

Also, it should be noted that a brand new IS F is 60 grand (MSRP, source: lexus.com), and a brand new Z car can be had for 33 grand (MSRP, source: nissanusa.com).

So I would hope that the IS-F is a more rewarding buying experience.

i wouldnt call it cheap. i owned an is250 w/o all the bells and whistles, and can say the interior, paint and finish is superior than the Z. The ISF is much more refined than the entry level 250...

XiP 03-19-2013 08:52 PM

Yes and no

Yes: I regret buying it because I should have saved all the money I spent on my Z and been a responsible person and invested in something with ROI

No: It's a sexy and fun car and what is the purpose of life if you just work and save money but not do anything enjoyable with it

I regret not getting persimmon seats!! I love my car so much i make up errands to run just so i can drive it. The Z makes me feel like a million bucks. The GTR is the only car i'd realistically reather have then the Z.

Ha did this guy seriously think we would all agree and list off cars we "SHOULD" have got? Someone didnt do their homework before buying. Becaue we all did and thats why we have a Z.

I think the OP had a lot of problems with his, along with horrible dealership experiences. That would make the buyer of any car regret the decision. I would feel the same way if I was in his shoes. Of course, I'm not, and I love the car. No regrets here, but then again, I've only had it for six months. Could I have spent the money a little more wisely? **** yea, but life is meant to be lived.

Pintsize725 03-19-2013 09:06 PM

You would be correct, and the dealer Nissan North American has told me to go to has TERRIBLE reviews and I got a text telling me not to go there...

i see. thats what i wanted to ask OP. why he feels the way he does.

Mr&Mrs 03-19-2013 09:15 PM

Like it so much we had two, granted only for 7 months. If we didnt have to upsize cars I would still have 2!

BG370z 03-19-2013 09:16 PM

No regrets here. Wish it was summer all year round.
Found my car late fall and wasnt shopping for one that soon
but it loaded 6sp with nav and perssimon seats. wow!

Jasonle 03-19-2013 09:17 PM

no regrets! I still can't stop looking at it.

Broken transmission, car has problems starting, cruise control doesn't work, the car rattles almost uncontrollably, and a half dozen other things

The dealerships ain't doing shít to help, and even our less than month old Maxima is rattling like a 1980's Chevy truck

JungleZ 03-19-2013 09:27 PM

hahahhahahah im so glad i leased the 370Z, I only put down 3000$ and pay 350 a month for 36 months and im getting the hell out of Nissan when the new mustang or sti comes out or upgrading to an AMG Benz.

I would be seriously pissed if i financed and would be stuck with a car i get tired of or want to get out of. Thats why people dont realize how great leasing is if you dont care about mileage restrictions and always having a car payment. Every 3 years i can switch into something fresh and fun.

One things for sure its going to be hard to top the 370Z in the looks department but too many other faults in this car for me.

lemon-fresh 03-19-2013 09:28 PM

Only regret is how much I have to wash the damn thing and not being able to drive it year around... But all that **** fades away when I'm behind the wheel or just admiring its beauty.

Z_ealot 03-19-2013 09:29 PM

never once regretted purchasing my Z for the year and a half and 33,000 miles i had it until its untimely demise at the hands of a telephone pole, as for this thread....hasnt this guy already done a similar thread of moaning and groaning about his Z's problems? jk ;) but seriously to relaxed right now after getting out of the shower to really give a damn lol

Edit: I'll be a bit nicer about this... The Z is not a financial imposition for me, and I bought it brand new.

cool story im not sure how many people can afford 2 sports cars and a mortgage but more power to you.

370Z is not a keeper unless you drop like 20-30K inmods on the dam thing.. Were talking Twin Turbo and the whole nine yards suspension wise

Well, I can.

It is a keeper, and I've spent far less than that. People just have different needs and standards.

I can easily accept the premise that some people are not satisfied with this car. But there are plenty of folks who are quite satisfied with it, as well.

:iagree: just seems lately that the people who arent satisfied are more vocal about it

OldGuy 03-19-2013 09:51 PM

Starting my 4th year with mine (only 11,000 mi. so far though). I'm glad I bought my Z. Considered it very, very carefully first. Changed out the tires for a much quieter ride, got the Clearbra, so I wouldn't be worried about chips on the vulnerable front end and got a custom leather interior. All set for a dozen more years and maybe 40,000 more miles of 3,000 mi./year or so pleasure driving each driving season. Then I'll be 77 and will wind things up with a more comfortable Infiniti G.

They usually are, and that makes sense. The happier folks figure that it goes without saying. The ones having a rougher time with their cars make it known, and they should, because perhaps we can help, or perhaps we can learn from what is happening to them.

leasing the car means you come out far further behind...

:iagree: but after hearing about a persons problems over and over again in multiple threads it tends to get annoying....not saying they shouldnt be vocal about it, but it comes to a point where you have to ask yourself "what more can we do for this person?"

dastaco 03-19-2013 09:56 PM

No regrets what so ever. I can understand being down on the Z though after what DEpointfive0 has gone through.

For me though the Z has a bit of intangible magic that makes a car special. Its not the fastest in a straight line or through the corners.. it doesn't have the best interior.. i've found it doesn't do well with seating 4 passengers.. and its MPGs leave something to be desired. That said the Z (or at least mine) has character to it. I don't see 100s of other Zs on the road (Mustang, Camaro), it is a frightfully good looking car in ways that not many other cars replicate or copy. To me its a unique car that has soul to it.

10+ years from now the Z won't even be close to fast to what modern cars can do then. But I would be shocked if it doesn't stand the test of time because of its looks of character. Its like seeing an 80's 911.. Sure they aren't the fastest cars anymore and sure they actively wanted to kill their drivers.. but they are amazing cars to see because they have a certain soul and passion to them. Maybe the Z doesn't hold that type of status to everyone, but for me it does.

TLDR - I have a hardcore addiction to my car.

DEpointfive0 03-19-2013 09:56 PM

Don't reply to my thread, easy solution, PM me and tell me to fùck off, that's fine.

The people who know me, know I'm not a bad person or anything, so there's no need to be bitter AT me when I'm just bitter with the car...
If NNA gets the damn thing to work without fault, I'll be happier than ever... ATM, I hate it... And I'm sure a lot of people regret not buying a 5.0 or something, but for whatever reason ended at the 370Z

sorry if i came off that way, but i am far from bitter with you, in fact you do a service to us all when you give an honest perspective of the way the dealer treated you and the problems you are having and the way they dealt with them which is why in the future i'll be staying away from power nissan lol. my main point i was trying to make was just to try and keep it to one thread if a person is having a problem and not to go and spread it all over the forum, other than that i have no qualms about you complaining about your problems and in fact encourage you to be vocal about it so that way maybe you can print out the thread and fax it into nissan to further prove your case to them, in summation....more power to ya brother! :)

Cool, so I won't have to crash my MBlue into your MBlue at the next meet, LOL!!!

Nissan called me today about my service visit, (friends were around and they know I love f-ing with them) and I told the guy "not pissed at YOU in any way but..." And I went off. Then he said, "so you'd like to move into the next part of the survey?" And I replied, "OHHHH, so NOW I'll curse the dealership out" and the me and the guy on the phone laughed, lol

(Beer on me at the next meet if you're there by the way)

lol, sadly my MBlue Z was sacrificed to appease the electric company at the alter of an electric pole so no need for that. fortunately im just about 3 or 4 months away from my next one showing up to remedy that and hopefully it will be as good reliability wise as my last one. oh and as a wise man once said "i dont drink often, but when i do i prefer dos XX" :D

I'm sorry for bashing the z guys, I really wanted to like the car and buy it out in the end but its too expensive to modify a base model into something proper.I don't know if having the sport package would of changed my opinion but the base model 6mt is a big let down for me.

lol, that actually ended up being my fault for accidentally going into 2nd at freeway speeds a couple of times and not realizing it until i heard the engine screaming at me to knock it off since i had rev matching on though i never did tell anyone that until now since it was pretty embarassing once i discovered what i was doing wrong. the only real problem i had was my passenger side door window motor going out which thanks to fontana nissan was replaced in no time no questions asked :) but yeah you got it right midnight blue it is :D
