Half of this forum would tell them to go buy a Mustang instead

PapoZalsa 03-03-2013 08:42 PM

They wanted to charge me $500 for pin stripes... I said hell no!

Then the salesman comes out and tells me "I'm sorry 370s dont get pin stripes".

Pulled in to the Nissan Service department. Service rep (the guys at the desk who check you in, not the actual mechanics) look at my nismo "Did you add that spoiler?"

Pink drives a 350Z. What did he expect me to do?

Not a Nissan dealer but I was doing the deal with Northside Mitsu. My car was coming from Westside mitsu since northside didnt have any Evo GSR's. I got to test drive a MR but not GSR. So i got the vin of the car i was getting and i went to Westside mitsu before they picked it up. So heres how the convo went

Me: Hey, im doing a deal with Northside Mitsu and they are picking this evo up for me in a day or so. Is it possible to test drive it before i sign the dotted line, heres the vin and the paperwork.

Salesmen: Sorry no, we dont allow test drives. Mitsubishi Policy

Me: Then why did Northside let me take out a new MR, no questions asked?

Salesmen: Not sure, but we dont allow test drives here. Not unless you give us a $1000 non-refundable deposit

Me: your kidding me right? You want me to give you $1000 to test drive a car that another dealership is picking up for me in a day or so? **** that.

Salesmen: Well you are about to spend $40,000 on a car, whats another $1000?

Me: Well im not going to spend $40,000 if I dont like the car. Like i said, i test drove the MR, i want to see how the 5 speed is.

Salesmen: well trust me, you will like this car. As you can see we added Rota P45R rims as well as a boost controller and adjusted the boost. This car is lightning fast. If you buy from us we will give you everything free of charge.

Me: Ok well im gonna get on the phone and tell northside I dont want this car anymore and to find me another one from another dealership.

Salesmen: Why?

Me: because i want a car that is stock and hasnt been touched. Unless you can provide paperwork showing what YOU guys did and then get me paperwork from Mitsubishi North American confirming it has warrenty. By the way, how much boost does these cars make and what did you turn it up to. (I already knew they peak ~19-20psi and taper down to 16psi)

Salesmen: yea we can find that no problem. We adjusted the boost to 45psi. I took it for a rip and roasted the tires off. Thats why we put these rims and new tires on

Me: really? 45psi? And thats safe? Ok well i want all the paperwork now.

Salesmen: Ill have it faxed over to northside mitsu for you.

Me: Can i take a look under the hood?

Salesmen: Sorry no, we dont want anyone messing around with the car

Me: are you serious? i have the paper work here for this car, you claim you added parts to it and turned the boost to 45psi and you wont let me check it out?"

So i walk away and just looked at other cars for a few mins. Found another sales guy that had no idea what was doing on. Asked him i could check the Evo i was getting out. He brought the keys out and i checked under the hood and started it up...all that good stuff. Car was completely stock (besides the rims) no boost controller, no nothing.

The other sales guy comes back and starts yelling at the guy that was helping me now. So i looked at him and said

Me: hey now, theres no need to yell at him. Just because you want to be a lieing *******, doesnt mean he has to be as well.

Salesmen: excuse me? what am i lieing about

Me: well first of all, telling me Mitsubishi wont allow test drives, second telling me you dont allow/want people looking under the hood of the car and my favorite, telling me you guys turned the turbo to 45psi.

Salemen: Sir i can get you the paperwork to show the work.

Me: please do, also please get me on the phone with mitsubishi north america and make sure that when a rod goes flying out of the engine because you guys ****** with it, i get a new engine under warrenty.

Salesmen: Sir i can assure you, its safe and wont blow up.

Me: Well i can tell you right now you are full of ****. For one the stock turbo in the evo can only flow 42lbs per min, meaning the compressor is to damn small and will not produce 45psi. At max it can produce 35psi, but even at 30psi its overspinning and two, without proper supporting mods, it will throw a rod.

Salesmen: Well i dont know what to tell you (as he walks away)

You prolly expected to get a test drive and possibly buy the car @ an inexpensive price, while the dealer knows what his inventory is worth so he prolly could care less. :rofl2:

I know this is for Nissan's but i gotta tell this story:

In 2000 I bought the then new Acura RSX type S, fully loaded it was a great car. When the salesman was telling me about the car he says "you know this car has a six speed" with this crazy look of anticipation. I say yyyeeesss, with sarcasm (like six speeds is a new invention) He tells me that with a six speed when on the highway if you wanna pass a slower car, you upshift instead of downshifting? My then girlfriend who I just taught how to drive a stick says " we should get another saleman" Lol

The 370z really is part of a niche market. You should look at the Mustang at the Ford dealer next door it's faster.
Then the idiot tried to entice me with a used bright green Dodge Charger that was traded in.

Looking at a Z with the sports package brakes, I say oh this one has the upgraded brake, must be the sports package. The clown says, no, they all have these brakes.

With an attitude, a Sales Mgr from a big Nissan dealership right next to Universal City tells me......"The car you want is on the dock in Long Beach. I'll have to pay a guy to pick it up. Do you want it?"

This is after I spent a day driving down from where I live, test drove what's on the lot, and sat there waiting for him. How the hell did having to pay a guy to pick up a darn car from the dock became my problem. I walked out and bought from a big Nissan dealership from Fontana with a known race team Way further but service was top notch.

I bought my CY Z out of state and the day after I got it home I went to the local Nissan dealer and as soon as I pull up 3 salesmen come out and ask me if I did a custom color on the car. I said "no that's the stock color" and one of the salesmen said to me "No it's not! I've worked for Nissan for 10 years and have never seen any 370z in that color! You had to have painted it!"

Me: ...... -_- *gets back in car and drives away*

Drodriguez06 03-07-2013 08:16 AM

when I had my G35 I pulled it into a Nissan Dealership cause it was closer than the Infiniti one, the guy said I don't know if we have the parts of even know how to work on the car, I told him Infiniti and Nissan are the SAME COMPANY you should be able to work on it, 10 mins later he said yea looks like its the same parts as the 350z lol how do people work for Nissan and not know things like this

I was at Town North Nissan a couple of weeks ago after they said they couldn't install aftermarket fenders on a Nismo of a local forum member because the door needed to be removed :icon14: I even verified in the service manual that the base is identical to Nismo when it comes to the front fenders, and when I told them only the bumper, side skirts, and fender protector have to be removed, they still insisted the door has to come off on a Nismo.

In the picture they sent the owner during the install when they said the door had to come off, the car had the wheel off and the side skirts still on  I said if they can't figure this $hit out, you probably don't want them working on your car.
