Beef (Nismo Vs. Non-Nismo)
So obviously all around the forums there are those that like the Nismo and those who don't, just a small simple poll to see the differences in which one you prefer
Please respect what other users think :icon17: |
if the nismo was available the same time i would have concidered it but im very happy with my base sport since i rather add my own mods than getting it out of the box
|
I find the Nismo looks a bit outlandish, but on the other hand, the picture of the red one Educ8r posted looked pretty nice.
In the end, I just cant justify the price increase for minimal changes. |
to me...spoilers>>>>>wings. Same reason I would not buy an STI or Evo
|
Wow. Pretty one-sided there. Is this simply because people don't have a NISMO or because you really think it's not a good deal. I personally think you can do more with less money than what they offer.
|
im a nismo fan but the nismo is just a body kit and an exhaust. interior is the same it just says nismo. oh and the sunspension. touring is more stuff and nicer and nav is nice
|
Nismo model Z is mainly for the name.
|
The only things I like about the NISMO is the body kit (minus the wing) and the rims.
But the price for the lack of features does not attract me. |

The sport package on the base & touring is probably the best deal you can get with the Z, everything else is what you want or do not want. The Nismo really cannot beat out a solid base+sport, and then throw on a few thousand in upgrades. Now I can understand those who just want it tuned from factory and everything, I am a bit like that but when it comes down to price v. gain . |
to me, the nismo looks too aftermarket.
|
Nissan should have focused more on the engine performance and less on looks. (I know, I know, a lot of the stuff on there is functional, and probably a good platform for adding mods)
I would have paid $45K-$47Kfor it, in it's current configuration, if it was putting out 425+hp. (supercharged, or small twin turbos would have been nice) maybe next year. |
While I do like some aspects, I think it's too over priced and looks too boy racer for me personally. To each their own.

The Nismo Z should be to the regular Z what the GT500 is to the Mustang GT. |
the real question is if the NISMO is worth buying over the non-nismos............b/c the NISMO is a better car obviously.......
If I could have either one free, I'll take the NISMO please. If I'm fronting the bill.............base with SP. |
Its not a better car by that much - atleast from what we know so far ... Throw some stillen bolt ons and you are at the nismo power level... the chassis is not seam welded anymore... the wheels are nice but if you are like me you are going to change them anyway... the suspension upgrades are not that much - you could do the same with about 2-3k. So all in all.. the only people really buying the nismo will be getting it for the body kit... I love the nismo rear and front bumpers... all else i would keep to my base...
|
I have to admit I do like the look of the nismo but I haven't seen one in real life so it's hard to say how much I truly like it. My one big complaint with it though is that there is no option for nav or leather seats. Overall I like the touring sport the best.

Nismo's getting killed!
|
You see, it's not like when Honda had their Civic Si's that had twin cam B16's that pushed 160 hp vs. the regular 1.6 125 hp motors. That 35 hp jump is a big deal for little lightweight cars as such, but w/ a 370, 18 hp isn't a world of difference. It's an exhaust and intake away, about $2,000 worth of mods vs. $9,000 price jump.
Nismo 370 is ricey I think, sorry if my opinion is offensive. S-tune is better. |

I had a chance to get a 08 350 nismo cheaper then my 09 370 but I didnt like the bent lip on the front air dam or the ricer screen on the rear, just saw the 09 and still has the curved or bent front lip.

Not going to track the car. Nismo is not necassary, and I don't like the exterior "improvements"

Touring with sport package and Nismo S-Tune upgrades, hands down...
|
Didn't like NISMO body kit. I got Base, then NISMO suspension upgrades and sports brakes and NISMO Spoiler. I'm getting the feeling I'm alone in this. My old 300ZX TT had the Stillen Spoiler and my older 83 280ZXT had the gigantic Whale tail spoiler. Not boy racer. More like old guy who is refusing to grow up.
|
i checked the standard version. for the extra money your paying for the nismo you are getting stupid looking bodykit, 18 extra measly hp that you can not notice, and less luxury .
|
Looks are very subjective. I like the front end, I'm neither a fan or a hater of the rear end. I don't care for the rear spoiler, like the sport package spoiler much better. I really like the wheels .......... to each his own. All in all, I think it's a nice looking package however. As many have said, you can do a lot more for the money. Sans the red stitching and NISMO nomenclature on the seats, the interior is the same. For a few thousand more than the price of the base with sport package, you can add some nice sways and struts/springs, a good HFC and exhaust, and come out cheaper than the NISMO. A lot of people though, probably want a "turnkey" performance upgrade without customizing the aftermarket performance parts. It's a nice car, I personally will enjoy my base with sport more by tweaking the suspension and adding a HFC/exhaust, then spend the additional money on a nice sound system.

the 350 nismo had the seam welds which you could not do on your own. (well, not easily at least)
the 370 nismo is all "bolt-ons" so I would stick with a base + sport package and customize my bolt-ons to my taste. to the nismo's favor I would say that the rear bumper is much better than the stock one and the concave wheels are just sick. |
Nismo Z= waste of money!
|
well i like both.. they are both 370z...=)
|
Top shelf - should reflect a minimum of 400 HP, that not being the case, then consider it all as just window dressing.
I'll do my own... |
Bahahaha 106 to 10. Fial.

If the Nismo came with the A7, I would have voted Nismo.
|
I wish they saved the money on the body kit and put it towards more hp. Nismo Z should have had DI and about "370"hp and reclining lighter racing seats as it is a streetcar too imho. 40hp more to celebrate the 40th anniversary. Price to performance ratio is what is sinking it as was already mentioned.
That being said it looks best in black and red but Id rather a base with sport package for the nifty synchro rev. |

Regardless of if you think the NISMO is enough performance upgrade it IS a performance upgrade - the body package is functional - there is a boost in performance, the handling is improved, etc. Value for money - not really but you're paying for the name plain and simple... no different than TDR, AMG, etc... manufactures performance parts are almost always more than aftermarket....
