I appreciate that thought.
Back in 2010, a fully loaded Sport/Touring/Nav 6MT 370z actually cost more than a Nismo370z. I actually wanted to buy a Nismo but has all the day to day luxary amenities I can get from the Touring. But sadly that model only exist in Japan.

So it was either to convert an authetic Nismo to fully loaded Touring with Nav or the choice I ended with. Either way would have sucked, b/c doing the research of all the components to make a Factory nav work alone costed $10K+ also. Looking back ,I guess I should have went with a Nismo to begin with.

Yes. If I had a mustang it would be like putting a gt500 emblem on it.

Yeah but you badged your s2200 as if it was the (far superior) s2000

In reality the factory Nismo cars say Nismo everywhere. Seats, Tach, Wheels etc. Mine is debadged on the outside and I personally am most visually attracted to simple clean lines without a million badges like some auto manufactures. I'm sure your car looks great as is : )

Can I have your Nismo badges? Lol

Nismo is a performance brand not so much a car itself. I have to disagree when others say its like putting a GT or GT500 emblem on a V6 Mustang because there is no such thing as GT/GT500 brand, its a model designation in the Ford lineup. Nismo refers to products like an a exhaust, a wheel, and aero parts, etc...It's like when you order H&R springs and they give you a sticker and you decide to put it on your car. It's not an H&R car now, instead, you're simply stating that you have their product on your car.

EDIT: I do understand Nissan has Nismo designated models though. It's open to interpretation...

I find it interesting that people have a lot of inputs with the Nismo badge (particularly on the rear bumper on the top right corner where factory location)

You pretty much answered exactly what I was going to ask.

What about License plate frames? If it's not a Nismo 370z, should one even have a Nismo frame?

I know i'm just :stirthepot: but what about Nismo upgraded parts? Those have Nismo badges written all over them. Intakes, strut tower braces, etc

What about Nissan GT-R? They don't have an official factory NISMO trim line that I know of yet I see Nismo stickers on it from time to time. Does it mean they shouldn't put any "NISMO" stickers/badges related items on it?

So are you for or against the OP putting Nismo on his car?

OP, I would do whatever you want that makes you happy. However, in the event that you ever decide to sell it, I would devulge that it is a Nismo clone. Some people won't care, but on the odd chance that someone feels that they are getting a factory Nismo, it may come back to bite you in the Nismo!

If I still had them sure! But I don't : (

I think with branding, it's always tough. I'm sure if I had a ///M3, I'd feel strongly against other 3 series wanting to wear that ///M badge when the car isn't exactly the same thing. This goes with STi, EVO, Type R etc.

But I've always found it differently with the 370z. B/c the engine is the exact same engine, just a different tune where as all the other cars I've listed above actually have a completely different engine + other stuff like BBK, suspension, transmission, what not.

A Nismo is a series of overpriced parts... who cares??? do what you want. Nobody will be saying 10 years from now that the Nismo was any better than sport pkg base/touring cars. Intake, hfc exhaust and tune on a reg Z will net you a 50hp. for $2600. $1200 in suspension parts will kill all that makes a nismo suspension anything worth talking about.

The body kit is the only truely nice thing about a Nismo, but it's more rare to have a Amuse or Fujimura kit...

Do what you want. Nismo has no value over time over any other Z, unless badges really become that meaningful in this country over time???:wtf2:

It's up to the OP what he wants to do with his car. My point was putting a Nismo sticker on your car doesn't mean you're trying to pretend you have a Nismo Z. I have a feeling you're not going t let me off the hook with that comment :rofl2:

If you have a nismo exhaust or real nismo kit? Right then and there, it gives you the right to put a nismo sticker. You bought a nismo part. fvck it. lol

Maybe they should make a new sticker. "I allowed Nismo name to rape me" lol:inoutroflpuke:

LOL, I just didn't get it. To me, the Nismo is a body kit with a shítty ride.

So since the OP has the body kit, a better ride, leather, nav, Bose and some other things, it MORE than makes up for not having the strut bar difference, or the chassis dampeners or the placards and... Whatever other BS parts come on a Nismo
So to me, his car is as good if not better than a Nismo
