OP -- I'm from SoCal and can relate. I've noticed drivers lurk around when on the fwy. The other day, some random dude took photos while I was eating a sandwich where I can see him. Let's face it, it may not be over the top on the price range but it is a nice car. You just do not see a lot of it on the street --- maybe because a few are on the tracks :)

I'm also in SoCal. I've gotten many miata drivers give a thumbs up. Every FRS passes me to make sure I see him, then slows down and stays either right next to me or right in front in the next lane. Then theres the Bimmer drivers. The other day there was a new turbo 335 that tried his hardest to get me to race on the 60. He first did the ricer fly-by, and 3 times he slowed down next to me and down shifted to take off before he realized I wasn't gonna play.

Just washed me car yesterday the weather was nice. I went cruising around town and I swear I was getting stares from everyone. I have a red Nismo and it was so cool to have so many people stare at my ride. At one stop sign some guy pulled up with a modded Civic. His girl was all over my car so I looked at her and she gave me a smile, when the lights turned green he spun his wheels and took off, made me laugh

I get a lot more stares with my MKIV Supra than with my 370Z, I guess its just because you don't see many Supras.

Its because they see the Supra and go "2JZ... no sh1t" and know it will decimate all. After you overnight some parts from Japan.

After more than 3 years of ownership, my still showroom new red Z continues to draw stares and compliments when I drive it. In Western PA, these cars are still unusual, bordering on rare. I'm pleased and comfortable with it and enjoy answering peoples' questions about my Z.

I'll notice people glancing at it on the freeway and such, at least I think that's what they're doing. :icon17:

I don't see a ton here in Phoenix (lots of 350's though), but we don't seem to get as much attention as others say they are, which is good and bad.

I get stared at too in the Z. But then again i drive around in my bean-dip-flavored man thong, so Im a legend around here for being easy to look at...

Dude -- you have the same name as the lead singer/bass player from Rush. I am not kidding. This is indeed an interesting coincidence.

Nothing is more uncomfortable than pulling up next to an Audi R8.. jesus christ that car is sex... Had another one pull up across from me at a gas station a month before.. It's like I'm being haunted.

I get from stares to mid fingers. Every time I'm at a gas station or at a store, someone comes out or as they walk by, they have the "urgency" to say something. 99% of the times are nice complements. At the mall, I park so far away, not even cell phone coverage can reach my vehicle. So nobody has nothing to say out there. Sometimes as I drive around town, minding my business, there is a moron who wants to test my patience. I gladly pull over when possible and invite them to fight, by then they realize I have bigger "cojones" and decide to just keep on diving.
Talking about middle age and frustrated individuals. There has been a few in their "40ish or 50ish" years old drivers (mostly driving a minivan with 5 0r 6 kids screaming and yelling in the back seats) that give me the dirty look or the mid finger. WTF, what have I done? I smile at them and give them my mid finger, most of the times my finger is bigger than theirs. OUCH it hurts!!!!!

yea i've gotten the mid finger myself as well. I don't understand it... a pedestrian crossing the street in front of me just looked me right in the eye and gave me the birdy. envy causes strange reactions in people. What I don't get is the envy over a car... its just a car nothing special

Ironically, I got more stares from my Coupe then I do currently with my Roadster. I had the MB which stands out compared to my BC now.
