Boost, wheels, suspension, save the rest.

Easy! Keep the Z.

DON'T READ THIS PARAGRAPH.
You're going to have to trust me on this.I've been thinking this through for about a few years now and you'll never regret it. It won't cost you the full 75K, but it'll still probably burn at least half. Trust me, though. It is the BEST idea in the world!
So here's what you do, you buy a 2009 Toyota Camry. This is a very important car that you might want to consider using for this project. Remove the engine and buy an old LS1 block. It's time for a manly engine swap. You also slap on some meaty rims and tires so that the massive change in power won't make you veer into a curb. Then, you'll have to rip out the toyota emblems. Remove the rear seats, because saves weight. The next thing you'll have to do is buy the following:
A Lamborghini emblem, that Ferrari shield (with the FJ) to stick on the side of the car, ///M emblem, AMG emblem, and a VTEC sticker. (Oh, and also park bench sized spoilers)

You fuse the M and AMG to make it into an A///MG emblem and you stick it where they always place their performance emblems, which is normally the right side of the back. The lamborghini emblem will replace your toyota emblems. Stick the VTEC sticker for an additional 15hp.

Then, you go on stoplights and hope to find another sports car next to you. You rev at them and inquire to go on a friendly drag race at the green.
Don't be embarassed! They'll be laughing at you, but just wait.. you'll get the last laugh. Wait till the light turns green, then laugh like a maniac as you see their headlights turn smaller and smaller in your rear view mirror as you speed away into the night...

no, don't do that its a stupid idea. In all honesty, I'd rather trade in the Z along with 75,000 cash to grab a GT-R.

^ you got issues Bro .. LOl jk that made me laugh though

zchristopher 02-03-2013 03:40 AM

If you don't already fully own your house, put the money there first, seriously. Of course, if it was me, I'd have a hard time following my own advice too :)

danegrey 02-03-2013 07:27 AM

Tough decision ---
house / GTR
house more likely to get your money back, put it to has it maintenance costs
GTR -- maintenance too, toss up....
you only live once
GTR

Z-Girl 12 02-03-2013 07:30 AM

You asked what we would do to the Z with $75k...I would take it to a good detailer and get it washed. Then trade it for a new M3.

BlkNismo 02-03-2013 07:59 AM

next gen M3

Jasonle 02-03-2013 08:15 AM

if I came across that money I would definitely pay down bills or your mortgage. GTR would be nice...but high to maintain.

Do a full engine build and a ridiculous force induction kit. Full tranny build etc..

OR

I'd take that 75 k and invest it/pay down mortgage.

Yep. Or a new business venture. Or just buy a Viper. I'm too indecisive.

JungleZ 02-03-2013 09:31 AM

I would sell the z and find a used c63 Amg black series

tonythetiger 02-03-2013 09:52 AM

mortgage seems more logical, cars can last for certain amount of time before you gotta rebuild it again or spend 50k on mortgage and split the other half on whatever

wstar 02-03-2013 09:57 AM

Yeah to me the mortgage argument isn't even about investment. Maybe my perspective is different, but I see that being more about financial freedom. The faster you get to the point of truly owning your home mortgage free... your monthly bills become drastically reduced. Suddenly you're not in situation where you keep having to say "If I can't pull in $X/month in salary, my life will rapidly fall apart". It gives you the freedom to be flexible, to take a few more months to figure things out if you get laid off work somewhere, to decide you want to downgrade to a less-stressful career later in life, etc...

It really depends on how you drive and how you intend on driving. I've heard a few GT-R owners say that it's not much fun on the street; I recall one guy going from a GT-R back to a Z for that very reason. If this is true, then spend the money making your Z more enjoyable. I'd never put that much money in one place unless it was a house or some kind of investment.
