Since the weather looks to be playing nice this weekend, I'll make sure to get out there and snap some.

One of the best for the money is the Beltronix RX65. Doesn't have the arrows like the V1 but has better range. Range is slightly less than the 9500 but for $200 less you can't beat it. Plus at a certain point, more range doesn't benefit you.

I've picked up a cop 6+ miles away... plenty of time to slow down.

Its all a matter of distance, visibility, angles, and placement. You'll get a Radar hit much further and easier than you'll get a laser hit.

Beltronix is actually owned by Escort and is their "lower price point" tier. However many of the same features are incorporated into both brands. The only main difference is in Escort models, they use Blue lettering, and in Beltronix, they use Red lettering.

Read this old posting, its been recently discussed, well passed the dead horse stage.

Actual testing and a lot of good comments from everyone, even some law enforcement.

Does the Beltronix have the GPS? That is my favorite feature.

Used to be mine too. It pointed out traffic cameras. But then the cameras got removed, and when I am on a freeway it alerts me to traffic cameras on roads below. You'd think the device could tell I was doing 80 and not 40 and just maybe I was on the freeway.

Yes, the STiR (high end Beltronics installed, comparable to the Escort 9500ci) does come with GPS. It is essentially a 9500ci with red LED board instead of blue. Wanna trade me for one??

Mine does that with me, if I am within 1500ft of any red light camera on the highway it will alert me. I just say thank you and keep driving. :icon17:

Escort 9500ix available in red or blue

FERRARI 11-30-2013 01:15 PM

I noticed several mentions about red light cameras...........I have PHOTOBLOCKER on my plates and I figured everybody did...........PhotoBlocker keeps your plates from being photographed........when an traffic camera takes a picture of your plates it uses a flash.........and the picture comes out with just a bright spot where you plates are because the coating that PHOTOBLOCKER PUTS on you plates is a reflective coating..........I have never had a ticket and I am in my 60's........have driven sports cars my whole live and I had the first Red 240 Z sold in Tennessee .........a 1970 ....240 Z

I have not heard a single story about this product working. Not sure if you have had a different experience.

You can easily see if you have it by pointing a phone camera at the plate. And you will get a ticket for it here in California.

However since I still have those new car paper ads for plates I guess I should run lights while I have a chnace.

Amazon is currently having a good deal on the 9500ix, $350 brand new for the blue display. Jump on it! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001F0RPGG/..._s_amzn_mx2g9c

winnre 11-30-2013 02:14 PM

You'd get that over the Valentine?

EndyKwon 11-30-2013 04:19 PM

I figured the GPS and the smartphone integration feature is better than the arrows imo. As far as performance goes, people say that the valentine one is slightly better. I needed a radar anyways for roadtrips and my old $150 whistler decided to die on me.

FERRARI 11-30-2013 08:03 PM

You are wrong.........a cell phone uses no flash........traffic cameras use a flash......come on get a program........or at least do some research.....I am in my 60's and have never had a speeding ticket and have never been bothered by traffic cameras...........
