Update: Car is now at the correct shop. The shop manager called me to say he was very uncomfortable with what he was told by the adjustor Direct General (the at-fault's company) had sent over. They said I had lost control of my car, and they pushed him to use non-OEM/remanufactured parts, repair things he didn't feel comfortable repairing, ignored the damage to the rims (he insinuated that they implied that they were old damages, but he could tell they were shiny/new).

When I told him what ACTUALLY happened, the shop manager said that yes, that is exactly the story that my car told him.

In short, if you have Direct General, I want to pimp-slap the **** out of you because they are a crap company, and I am glad as hell that I lawyered up, this is going to be a nightmare.

Sorry to hear about everything that happened, I hope you get everything resolved with your Z and the insurance company BS.

My Z took some similar damage in an accident last year where I hit a guard rail. Front fender was replaced, rear fender was repaired/repainted, front and rear bumpers were repainted, and 2 wheels were repaired. Luckily for me it was only cosmetic damage, but the total came out to about $3-4k for the repair.

What I have done in the past is to have my insurance company fix the car and bill the at fault company. One of the times was my 1991 300ZXTT that a old guy in a ford wagon turned into scrap metal, He had some crap insurance company. So state farm totaled the car. Paid me, and collected from his insurance. Talk with your insurance company and let them know what is going on maybe they will help speed things up.
