I have a 2013 that I have had for about 3 months. The actuator that opens the fuel filler door didn't work from day one, so it was only in the unlocked position. Also, one of the retainer nuts that holds down the carpeting up the the drivers foot well area was missing.

Ok so i know the steering lock issue is a universal Z problem. But many of the other Z problems tend to run in the manual cars. Any mechanical issues that i should be concerned about (excluding oil/consump./fuel starve) that is either exclusive to the auto or universal? Just want to make sure I have it all covered...

I honestly do not know what to do, I just got off the phone with the dealer and they told me that It's not covered by the warranty, It cost $800.00 dollars to fix it and $150.00 dollars to Towed it.

Really Nissan Really! So Mad Right Now!

Most states Lemon Laws state if you have to have something fixed by the manufacturer 3 times, they have to buy it back from you as it's a Lemon. Might be something to look into in your state if it's that bad and isn't under warranty, which what is their reasoning for that anyways?

Why is the dealership telling you it isn't covered under warranty?

Because I only have the Limited Warranty which covers "600+ components of your vehicle's major systems, uncluding powertrain" but I guess the steering wheel which he said needs to be replaced doesnt fall under that category.

Have you tried tapping/hitting the steering lock? I know some guys say that it might help it get it unlocked once. Once unlocked, go pull the damn fuse!

I find it hard to believe the "Steering" category doesn't fall under Major Systems... I'd like to see the fine print of your warranty info, that's what they should show you. Cause that's messed up. :(

Daily drive 35 - 40+ year old Z's for a while and you'll gain a whole new understanding of "putting up with" stuff. Seriously -- the 370 is a pussy cat by comparison.

had a windshield cracked. had to replace the whole damn thing. cost $250. dont have that new feel to it know more. :(

1) 3 Trips to the dealership because of a dropped clutch. They finally just replaced the whole clutch assembly.

2) Steering Lock Problem. Wouldn't start.

I think those are the two universal problems with this car. Other than that it's great because I couldn't even come up with a car that I could trade this in for and be satisfied!

Sucks but you gotta pay to play!

I'm asking because I bought my 2009 370z about 6 months ago, I love the car so much it's in my top 5 cars that I love! But recently (2 weeks ago) my slave cylinder gave out and I had to get it replace even though nissan "help me" pay half of it I ended up paying toying 150 dollars and repair 500 dollars. So I was upset about the whole situation but I got over it, now just today I guess I have the "Steering lock fuse" problem and from what I have seen it looks like I might have to take it to the dealer AGAIN! Unless I want to try and fix it myself which sometimes that can backfire on you.

So at This moment I'm pretty frustrated, I really just want to drive. Wouldn't you think that the more expensive the car is the longer it would last or the less issues it should have?

What have you put up with ur Z? Maybe I'm complaining about something we have all gone through with our Z

Sorry to hear your two problems with an 3+ years old car.....

Those two are the most common problem with the 370z...

But for an 3+ years old car... you might as well want to purchase an extended warranty for peace of mind.
