^^ Ahh, snake that FP Red sounds so sexy
FYI OP, you're not going to have fun driving on the stock summer tires that come on the Evo... they'll put you in a bad situation real quick. |

I've owned RWD cars almost exclusivley except for my previous 06 WRX; I much prefer AWD. I've honestly been waiting for someone to make a good 40k or less AWD car. I've considered the new STI but in my opinion it's underpowered for the price. Doesn't make sense to me to pay 37k for a car that only has 305hp. Plus I'm not 100% sold on the larger body and look of the current STI vs. the previous smaller styles. Give me a G37X with a manual tranny and some sort of FI V6 and I'm sold. |

its not a sexZ. but it do have that mean look to it. thats why i prefer the X. way cheaper parts also. sti are good. but i seen about 10 in my area. only one 370z and a bunch of 350z. no evos. you know that feeling when you have like the only car in your area. :driving: im going to miss the neck breaks i get when im driving the z tho. |
Wicked White is the best color IMO. Looks good man, good luck.

You sign where you need to sign, scan/fax/mail the necessary papers to your dad, have him sign where he needs to sign, have him scan/fax/mail papers back to you. Done.
|
Oh oops you already got it!
Nice color, if I could have chose a different color for the Evo I had I would get white for sure. You really need to try driving that car on packed snow, will probably be the most fun you've had in awhile. (With snow tires of course - get a dedicated wheel/tire set if you can) |

WOW. this is BS. the one i wanted is sold. i didnt know there was a aero kit for evos.:icon14:
below is the one i wanted(sold) this was also 28k, 16k miles http://www.cstatic-images.com/supers.../5705SF/05.jpg http://sitespecific.dealerskins.com/...2611316_md.jpg below is the one that is available 29k, 13k miles http://www.cstatic-images.com/supers...7/30486/05.jpg whats up with that chrome side mirror(ugly) http://sitespecific.dealerskins.com/...2125629_md.jpg guess it wasnt meant to be. unless i settle for the bottom one. |
Ok, now just forget about it because it wasn't meant to be, get snow tires which will make a ton of difference. RWD are very capable when you know what you're doing.
|
The only difference is the body kit (tall spoiler, side skirts and lip). I ended up removing my spoiler and didn't care much for the front lip. Plus, there are a ton of aftermarket lips available. The top one was debadged anyway. They probably modded it lol.

Yea im not a fan of the aero kit that comes with some of the evo's. I have the Varis Lip on my evo...

Dam that's brutally ugly
|
My car or the oem aero kit?
|
Had a similar issue when i bought my z. As long as his name is not on the registration or title, he shouldnt need to sign anything.
|
its been along time. but i finally got the x. just in time for the snow storm :D

The Evo is crazy fun. Enjoy it. I wish i can own both. How much did u pay?

That aside, the Evo is far from a downgrade. It's a fantastic car and has been a dominant car on the track over the years for a reason. Of all the cars I've owned, my Evo 8 had the best steering feedback and confidence inspiring handling. It was very easy to drive hard and could be modded very easily with little money. None of this is a reason the OP is giving for the change and I wouldn't trade mine for an Evo being in SoCal. But I loved AWD for those crappy days of weather. So being in Ohio, I see this as a smart move. Other than losing your a$$ financially. Congrats on the Evo. You will have a blast in it. |
Don't give up so soon

Well sorry you feel the need for a trade. I'd try the tires first to see the difference before you do a drastic deal as in trading in you ride. So if you do go for the trade just dont settle on one car because you want it. Take your time and get the best deal you can, I got my baby for $25K
|
yea OP wasted a lot of money when the only issues was tires.

STI was underpowered, and no auto option test drove and nice drive though. EVO not bad looking, underpowered, but limited dealer presence in my area, and the salesmans i did talked to seemed not interested in my business. Z great deal on price, good power, great styling, deal closer was the saleeman, no BS and worked the deal i wanted. that said they are all great rides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Good Luck!!:tiphat: |

I love sports cars man. They all have their positives and negatives. For every negative, I can emphasize a positive and vice versa on ALL MODELS... It's all based on your needs and applications how it will swing for you in your decisions.. Drive safe and enjoy:tiphat: |

I had an Evo 8 too and I have to agree with the steering feed back and handling, honestly it felt better than my 2012 z in handling and steering feedback. The z is just a better overall car |

overall, im lovin this X right now. beside the interior :( how do you go from push to start to turn to start. no xm/navi/backup cam/heated seat/rear mirrors dont even have the dim thing where people cant high beam you. inside just looks like a 90's car with recaro seats. lmfao.
