I don't care if you drive stupid, but...

Please, please, use your blinker so you let others know exactly where you plan on flinging about 3000-5000lbs of metal on the interstate...

Changing a lane? Blinker.
Making a turn? Blinker.
You think nobody is around and doing either? Blinker.

And no, the use of your blinker does not indicate your right of way. Be courteous and if changing into a faster lane, make certain it's clear and keep speed with the traffic in that lane. Additionally, don't pull out into traffic and creep across 3 lanes, making traffic slam on their brakes around you so you can make the next turn: get to speed while moving over, and if necessary, make a u-turn a turn or two up or two left turns. And, for the love of Zeus, if you mistakenly make a commitment to a turn lane, keep it and correct your err after making the turn - do not jettison back out into flowing traffic.

All these drivers make me frightened about getting my Z in the next couple weeks!

:eekdance:

/I might be overreacting
//It's a Z, worth overreacting maybe just a little

Haha. I have been trying to get used to the unique blind spots in this car and have been using my blinker all the time.

It does make me nervous, because half the time I look two, maybe three times and still am not sure if there's someone there or not (when I'm actually the only one on the road!). :icon17:

:iagree:

one of my worst pet peeves, Cali is notorious for idiots not signalling. Pisses me the hell off. Especially when they cut you off then slow down. I'm like really??? F****** idiots :shakes head:

Drivers

Crap drivers. I love the goons who shoot up your arse and then when i will not speed up, they shoot to the next lane and do the same to another driver. If only it were legal to blast them off the highway.

That's why I was taught in a defensive driving course to constantly be scanning the mirrors - especially in a car with limited visibility, such as the 370Z - so someone can't sneak up on you. This constant attention to the surrounding environment precludes talking on a cell phone, texting, and other distractions.

How To: Adjust Your Mirrors to Avoid Blind Spots - Feature - Car and Driver

Try doing this. It's weird at first, but it almost eliminates blind completely for me.

I always use my blinker unless im speeding driving spiritedly. :stirthepot:

I adjust the side mirrors so that I can just barely see the rear fenders when I lean to the side or tilt my head - probably close to what SAE/C&D recommends. During normal driving, I can't see the fenders, but a quick lean/tilt reassures me that they are still back there. :)

No fooling. Get in the left turn lane and go straight. I just survived such a scenario.

drivers seemed curtious when i was stationed there back in 2003. i guess alot has changed

I always practice "traffic prediction" techniques.

You can generally tell what someone is going to do before they do it based on their surroundings.

Hardly courteous here, they are very aggressive and do not use blinkers. Being from S.Cal and their often, the people out there are more courteous on the road.
