It wasnt a passing lane. These fools are everywhere. Anyways, tell that to a cop about a passing lane. Learn the rules.

This is so true. And don't you hate those truck driver that when they see you are coming into the freeway they would gas up and try to not allow you go in front of them first even tho they know for the fact that eventually you can still catch up to them later!

I just hate trucks.

Of all kinds, but mainly tractor-trailers. Esp. when they are NOT in the far right lane (or at least middle).

I can only hope that one day in Phoenix we get those signs on the freeways, "Trucks with trailers must use right 2 lanes".

Really? I drive with my headlights (low-beams) on every time I get in the car. Provides extra visibility to other drivers. I guess it's a habit from my motorcycle days.

I'm waiting for the day here in Charlotte we get signs that say, "All other cars besides 370Z's must use other lanes than the one they're using".

I am talking about the geniuses with off-road type lights. Very annoying.

To the OP, before I looked at your location I said to myself "you must be in Charlotte"

People flash their brights at me constantly because they think I have my high beams on. That was happening before my halos went on too even with my chrome and reflectors blacked out.

Changing a lane? Blinker.
Making a turn? Blinker.
You think nobody is around and doing either? Blinker.

And no, the use of your blinker does not indicate your right of way. Be courteous and if changing into a faster lane, make certain it's clear and keep speed with the traffic in that lane. Additionally, don't pull out into traffic and creep across 3 lanes, making traffic slam on their brakes around you so you can make the next turn: get to speed while moving over, and if necessary, make a u-turn a turn or two up or two left turns. And, for the love of Zeus, if you mistakenly make a commitment to a turn lane, keep it and correct your err after making the turn - do not jettison back out into flowing traffic.

All these drivers make me frightened about getting my Z in the next couple weeks!

:eekdance:

/I might be overreacting
//It's a Z, worth overreacting maybe just a little

I agree, but I hate tailgaters more.

Maybe your headlights are improperly adjusted.

Just take off the rearview mirror. Works wonders. :driving:

Not much to look out of behind you anyways. :ugh2:

Why don't you learn the rules.

I'm from Waxhaw but now live in the QC. I avoid 74 at all costs. Luckily I work 3rd shift so go the opposite way of traffic.

Unfortunately, I can't. If my company didn't pay so well, I wouldn't be doing this 3 hrs a day commute through downtown and down 74. One of the bigger reasons I'm getting the Z is that I spend upward of 3 hours a day in a car just going to and from work. I might as well enjoy something about the trip.

Note: I have gained a certain 'patience' for those idiots who drive badly but use their blinkers, and an intolerance for idiots who don't. Odd.

^ Once 485 is all the way done that'll help out at least.

I was almost in 2 wrecks driving through Hidden Valley to get to Ikea yesterday. Not the place to get into a wreck. 1st was a big explorer tailgating me on a 4 lane road with center turn lane (I was going about 60 in a 45 just so he wouldnt be sitting next to me in my car) so I flashed my rear foglight and brake light. Didn't help. Came to a stoplight and I slowed down sooner than I needed to so the dude got right up my @ss and honked. From the stoplight I accelerated a little quicker than normal, the other cars in traffic were a good bit behind me. The guy in the explorer honks, goes into the oncoming traffic lane with oncoming traffic (not the empty right lane) and flies by me. Gets into traffic infront of me and swerves all through it. Just a guy in it driving with one hand on the wheel. I'd understand if his in-labor wife was next to him but he was just driving towards Ikea, not a hospital. total idiot.

A few minutes later some girl was following me about a foot off my bumper so I tapped my brakes (to get the lights to come on before I had to brake and turn, not trying to brake check her). She swerved around me when I was turning and shot me a dirty look from behind her phone.

Charlotte drivers suck. Actually, since most people who live in CLT arn't from here anymore I'll just say that drivers suck in general. But just you wait until there's snow/ice involved. Just don't go outside.

:iagree:
I hope that's true with 485. Most of the traffic on 74 (full of sideroads and businesses) is because there's no parallel thoroughfare running south/north for people trying to go further than 485. So that completion might be moot, but maybe not.

And yes, drivers here suck. And yes, they suck everywhere. But, I'm also one of the out-of-towners. I moved from ILL to Dallas to Louisiana to Cleveland to here. I have never had any weather-related accident as I grew with in the ice-zone of Illinois. LA was rain, HEAVY rain. But, get a sprinkle here after sundown or a snowflake in the air; People go crazy! Literally, 15mph in a 55 with nobody within 150yds of them in any direction.

mhcoss 12-15-2012 08:10 AM

Here in Edmonton the drivers are worse then they were back in Dallas. Thats a hard thought to fathom but I have found it to be true. They are all drivin their nascar pickup trucks and minivans. In their mind its a race pickup truck or race van, not a vehicle designed specifically to haul a load. Every time a light turns green I see em fishtailing off the light in the ice trying to race each other in their quadcab pickup truck with one driver in it and absolutely zero cargo or load. The stupidity of it all just blows my mind everyday while I'm out on the road.

Just gotta be careful out there

one of my worst pet peeves, Cali is notorious for idiots not signalling. Pisses me the hell off. Especially when they cut you off then slow down. I'm like really??? F****** idiots :shakes head:

When you used my Z as my daily and commute to work, school, fun, etc, the blind spots and California drivers gave me a lot of unneeded stress. Now that I got my Prius as a daily, I barely have any blindspots and I feel like this weird weight lifted from my senses.

California sucks when you drive a car with blind spots because there are actual people who would drive at your blind spot ON PURPOSE!!! :shakes head:

DufDaddy 12-15-2012 11:50 AM

"SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" signs are the biggest waist of money. Coming home from the beach on Rt 1 thru Delaware there is always a half mile long or longer line of cars in the left lane because of some jackwagon who is slowly passing people. The speed limit is 65 and he is passing at 67.

My other favorite is the idiots that get into the middle lane of I95 (which is five lanes in some areas) and then drive 55 so you have faster cars passing on both the right and the left. Get the F@#$ in the right lane before you get yourself killed
