are you including instal? some of use are capable of installing it ourselves which is a huge savings and great sense of accomplishment!

Lol. It's funny you think that the kit is all you need. If we call the kit 8k, then we add 3" downpipes for 1100, oil cooler for $500 or so, CSF radiator for $700 or so, Clutch and flywheel for another 1k, 3" exhaust for another 1500-2k depending on brand, boost controller, ceramic coat all hot side piping for a couple hundred, powdercoat all the intercooler piping for another couple hundred, gauges for another $500.... No, that's not including labor.

I'm not saying you have to spend 15k. You can cut corners and do it for less than 10k. I chose to do everything at once, and get everything I need to make it as reliable as possible.

The cost of putting together a FI setup for a factory NA car is something that generally won't make sense to someone until they've done it. A large number of relatively low cost mods add up pretty quickly.

LMBmikeZ 11-20-2012 08:17 PM

I am not saying that you only need the TT kit just saying it can be cheaper then what you have spent :ugh2:

That's what I keep trying to tell everyone, but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. There's a lot of stuff to buy. **** gets expensive in a hurry.

LMBmikeZ 11-20-2012 08:24 PM

:iagree: that it is not a cheap thing to do, just different total cost for parts when I do my parts wish list.

Either way congrats on your TTZ34 Chuck33079 :tiphat:

Do I have a link to what? The 1000hp car which if your not aware of maybe you should do some searching around on the forum, or the fact that a 600whp Z can be reliable?

to the dyno results showing a 1000hp Z

red6spd 11-20-2012 08:27 PM

You seem to enjoy going back searching old threads for links comments etc so you do it. But I know you know what car I'm talking about.

I know I could have probably cut 2-3k of nonessential but highly recommended stuff out of the build. All of the coatings, probably the radiator, etc. I could have put off the clutch and flywheel for a while, but I'd eventually have to buy one. I'd argue that you can reduce the short term costs somewhat, but in the end most people with a 450-500 whp TT Z or G will be within a few thousand in total cost.

I can't seem to find a dyno chart. I'm sure you won't have any trouble though.

red6spd 11-20-2012 08:31 PM

But you know of the car? Your just being a pain?

i'm pretty confident he wouldn't lie and say he had 1000hp if really didnt IDIOT

i'm also pretty sure my STS kit would easily handle more than 1000hp if I ran meth and built the motor and the clutch pack

W.O.W. 370Z 11-20-2012 09:15 PM

im looking for more power that is it. i do go to the drag racing on the track/street every once in awhile also go out to the meets out here in houston. im just looking for a car that i can put a certain amount of money into and have good numbers(high 400s-600) and race with on the weekends. if i do decide to keep the z f.i is going to be a must, dont really care much about backseats. i was also thinking about z06 vette c5 or c6 but i some what want to stay on the import side....im just going to keep an open mind and think everything over before jumping on another car...thnks for the reply/advice everyone

I can fine 56349865739856730985093850 cars that cost as much as a STI sedan that come with a slush box but you choose to drive a KIA? LOL.

Chuck33079 11-21-2012 08:31 AM

My girlfriend has a Kia. I drive it all the time. It's better than walking, I guess.

Really? There's a huge number of guys over on NASIOC who regularly track their Subarus.

I know a few people who track their G37 sedans. The sedans, although slightly, are lighter than the coupes. They track well. This statment just doesn't work.

Actually, the Impreza platform was designed for WRC/ Group N rally. They made an econobox out of it afterwards. Subaru wanted to replace the Legacy platform rally cars with a smaller, lighter vehicle.

Although, I'm wasting my breath as you have somewhere around 8 posts, all proclaiming the almighty superiority of the Z over all other platforms, and everyone who doesn't bow at the altar of Z is an idiot.

Oh. It's Fabio again. Nevermind. Please get your whole head in front of the shotgun.

Mannysrt8 11-21-2012 10:20 AM

I personally really like the new STI and in no way do i think its a boring, grocery getter, actually a true drivers car like the Z however i cannot get over the lame looks of the car.

what car do you drive? I've bought groceries in my Z before, any car can be a grocery getter imo. Even motorcycles... actually in a lot of countries where traffic is congested people deliver stuff using motorcycles because they can weave through traffic

The STI looks like a sports car to me... are you implying it's not a sports car because it has 4 doors? If you look at all the features it has AWD, good brakes & suspension, etc...

It looks sexy, I'd like to get one if I had extra money and could justify having another car lol

If you want a drag car I'm not sure the sti or the Z are good options. Old supra?

Our Z is our grocery getter as it actually holds more than the G does in the trunk.................
