Alright, alright, he's not the first to crash a Z from what I've seen.

nogoodname 07-05-2009 12:24 PM

test drive turned into a test crash......how bad was the Z beat up??

if it's less than 3K to repair...something like that....the dealership can fix it themselves and sell it without the future owner ever knowing.

Here is my understanding...
In the US, the car carries the insurance, not the driver. So be mindful of who you let drive your car. That said...

the car's insurance company can go after the driver's insurance company for the claim. The most you will likely be out is your dedectible, but can count as a claim against you.

LOL!!!! OMG this is awsome!

nogoodname 07-05-2009 12:56 PM

that's if they even claim it, i mentioned if it's not bad....they will repair & sell without telling the future owner....happened to a guy on another forum...he later found out that half of his G37 has been painted

Very sad...
It's a privllege to drive the 370z, you wrecked the car and you make a post about it.
And I see your from Jersey...

it's common sense to not floor it while turning...lol.....maybe after the apex....ha
but going downhill doesnt help at all.

but who cares, as long as no one got hurt.

this thread should be locked...lol...only bashing to come

whoady4shoady 07-05-2009 01:17 PM

Bash Bash!

If the VDC was on that would not have happened. The throttle would have cut right back or cut off, and the brakes would have engaged before the slide.

I think that law varies by state to state, or province to province, but if he hit a median at 77mph (which is an unusual speed to take note of and makes me question the validity of this whole story) then I am sure he did enough damage to force the dealer to disclose it. Hopefully the Z will just get totalled and some other poor guy won't have to deal with the potential headaches that may come with buying a car that was carelessly driven and wrecked. In maryland he would have been ticketed for anything from failure to control speed to reckless endangerment.

:iagree: 100% with you. What really floors me are the idiots here that think it is funny and amusing. They all (including the moron driver) are totally ignorant of the fact the Z is a highly refined sport car which demands respect while driving. It's a shame those who understand and fully respect this fact will always have to share the same streets with these knuckledragging clueless atavists.

Which supports the fact it was the driver's stupid carelessness why it happened in the first place as the car was completely in his control at that moment.

The car was pretty bad. Front left side is smashed in, whole left side and ripped to hell and the back left is smash in pretty good too. I imagine it would be far more then 5-6k worth of damage.

Let me be clear, not blaming the car at all, it was 100% my fault. Not used to the feel of the car and it got away from me. I drive a 2006 911 turbo, my girl has really gotten into cars since she met me and now she wants something sporty. I was test driving it out pretty much for her.

So I guess you could say I can handle a 911 but the 300z is to much for me. :excited:
