Petition to allow Radar Detectors in VA

You know, I don't see why VA won’t allow radar detectors. With all the new technology emerging, many of them have updates for traffic, emergencies, road constructions etc. And with the total lack of intelect that Virginia uses when doing road construction, one might think it could help avoid traffic accidents to some degree; oh, and speed traps. :) Anyway, I'm curious if there is a way to start a petition for the use of RD's in VA? Just a thought. Anyone have input? :shakes head:

So I started a petition for this. Please sign it.

I THINK if you buy the Passport 9500iX it has a Radar detector detector detector...

The police can find you because your radar detector emits a frequency that they pick up with their detector detector... And again, I THINK the 9500iX has a detector for their detectors and it shuts the unit off when it detects them...

JEEZUS I typed in "detect/detector" a lot...

Hmmm? The purpose of it turning off is so you don't get fined for having one in VA and DC... If it turns off, I guess you know there is a cop, LOL

Honestly, best bet, get a battery operated one, and if you see a cop, chuck it in the glove box, if it's in the glove box, and off they can't give you a ticket

I love it. I can walk around with my gun on my hip all over VA and cops don't care (it's legal), but if I have my radar detector on the SWAT team will pull me out of my car and beat me to death. :bowrofl:

your weapon doesn't take $$ out of the state's pocket, a radar detector could, state doesn't like not making $$ off it's citizens, that goes 100x for VA, the republic of ludicrous taxation.

For a long time I had hoped they would lift the ban. I'm going to borrow a friends 9500 for a road trip at the end of the month and I'll see how it works, as far as shutting off if detected.

I assume you just created this petition
Allow VA Residents To Use Radar Detectors

Thank you for stepping up and doing so, I'm sharing this with my friends and will get many signatures!

please let me know. I've looked into actual Mil-spec jammers, but I can't validate they actually work. :shakes head:
