i have the cloth seats, no wear yet. but the underside of my steering wheel is wearing where i occasionally rub against it when getting in/out of the car.

do more marathon running instead of driving. kill 2 birds with one stone. actually more cause youre saving fuel and $$$ and environment, and other folks from getting hit.

I work out 5-6 days a week. U may ask why this matters. Because when u are more able to easily maneuver yourself in and out of the car, it makes a HUGE difference. Its more work for me, but i never sit on the bolsters. Just aim for the middle, and park it. (also... That sentence applies to other "flexible" life activities, guys)... Giggitty
... But no joke.. That's the key to no bolster wear. Be careful when getting in and out. |
This is a great thread!

On a serious note, I think Clazzio seat covers will do though. I don't mind spending a couple hundred bucks to not wear out the seats.

I think a worn seat looks sort of like worn jeans. It shows wear and tear and adds character. I think it will look good IMO.

I bought my Z used. The driver side seat is a little worn. Fits my *** perfectly. Thanks previous owner!

11,300 miles on a 16 Nismo, here is the upper side of the driver seat.

Seats are sadomasochistic...they want you to hurt them...they hate you if you dont...:icon17:

After 70K miles and 5 years of my fat a$$ (up to 250 lbs) getting in/out multiple times per day, I have done a number on my driver seat. But nothing is tearing or even starting to wear horribly. The side bolster has a few creases in the fabric, and the upper bolster is starting to show a little wear.
My biggest gripe is the foam around the side bolster has settled, so I now have what seems to be a thin, hard, plastic piece digging into my left a$$ cheek and thigh every time I take a hard right. Wondering if my warranty would cover it :icon08: |

I did find a local shop that repaired the damaged area and now it looks like this (2nd picture)...not bad for $282.00! |
I try to avoid touching the bolsters when I get in. I can't do anything about it though when I have itchy "cheeks" and just have to scratch
|
Yah, my wife says just sit on the original seats and don't worry about the wear. Well, I do. I look at the bolsters on my Maxima's leather seats and they are really bad. I mean, it's just common sense to me to keep the interior surfaces original and in like new condition. Unless you just don't care about your car, but I think you do. Just get nice leather seat covers..... and forget about it. Get in and out of your car the way that's natural to you. Too many other things in life to worry about
